Pettis just came off a loss to Eddie, why isn't Eddie a front runner over Diaz and Pettis??

Judges gave the fight to Alvarez. Doesn't change the fact that Pettis is better and should have won. Pettis is the more exciting fighter and McGregor/Pettis is easier to sell than McGregor/Alvarez because of the style matchup.

He can only win by holding the opponent down. Makes for a shitty fight. Who wants to see that except his riders.

Sometimes he can also win by failing to hold his opponent down, like in his last fight

Eddie had a pretty grueling fight only a month ago. I think its safe to assume he took a few weeks off after fighting Pettis.

Maybe Pettis should become a better fighter and then he would get the chance to fight McGregor.

You dont deserve red panty night by stuffing your head on somones crotch for the whole fight.

I don't understand all this talk that "Eddie is a boring fighter" or "Eddie only gets wins by wrestling/grinding". It's like only his most recent fight is being considered and they've never seen any of his other fights. And if you're going to say that "you're only as good as your last fight" then Pettis should be out of the discussion. Yes, he did implement a safe game plan against Pettis in his most recent fight but Alvarez has put on some of the most exciting fights i've ever seen in MMA. Melendez, Chandler, Hanson, the list goes on and on. The guy only has 6 decision wins in his entire career. I am always ecited to see Eddie fight, and would love to see him vs McGregor. Not to mention he is the #1 contender.

Because Eddie Alvarez is not someone people want to see fight, that's just the truth. He won against Pettis and no one took it seriously, he sat on him the entire fight.

cause no one wants to see him play grab ass for 3 to 5 rounds

I think they wanna give the people who forked over tons of dough a "fight" to watch.
