The only logical reason i can come up with.. is that Conor wants this fight, and the UFC does what Conor wants to do.

Conor prides himself in being the best, he's constantly talking about it. How great it is

Losing like that brings him down.. he can't consider himself to be on the level he was 2 weeks ago unless he can avenge that loss.

and he's full of confidence so he probably thinks he can do it.. I don't. I think he's going to get blasted worse this time.

"Why is the happening" is a great thread title.

Because it'll sell. People love a good vengeance arc and that demographic is who the UFC has always sold to.

You're putting too much weight on Conor's persona.

why not at 155 with the winner get a shot at whoever is the champ? would make way more sense

Because at 170 Conor gets his "two weight classes up" excuse and if he wins the 155 title shot anyhow

he needs to vacate 145 IMO and just move up. This is starting to get ridiculous......very WWE like

Ufc knows Connor is exposed ,they cashing him out for the last time

They saw what happened when they didn't put Ronda and Holm back together, it made it easier to say lets get this done now and reap the rewards.

Its ridiculous and completely de-legitimizes the sport

Who, what, when, and where is the happening? Let's get that clear before we try and figure out the why.

MY OPINION------ Conor.....DOES NOT....want.....any part, of Frank Edgar. Therefore he will probably fight everyone he can until Edgar gets tired of waiting and gets a fight, then you will see Conor fight Aldo again, or Mendes again, or ...sage?
