He did not have problems making 155 iirc and he would have a huge size advantage there over most of his opponents.

Because Gall fights heavier and can't make 155. Sage has taken a fight at this weight before and is a pretty big LW so Gall figured he could call him out as the other guy Dana scouted on his show and being that he is both not that big and is one of the younger, less experienced (in MMA) fighters on the roster.
