They could do some serious damage to Seoul if they blitzed the South, but other than that, they aren't much of a threat at the moment. If they did attack Seoul, there'd be massive casualties for South Korea, but it'd be a death sentence for the North's leadership as they would be decapitated after that, so they aren't going to do that any time soon. As far as attacking America, they also aren't going to do that because they know that they can't do anything seriously damaging to us yet even a small attack--something Pearl Harbor-ish--would be plenty of justification for the US to go to war and cut their nuts off.

If I were them I'd worry about China. The Chinese are sick of their shit and if they feel Lil Kim is upsetting the status quo too much, they'll take his ass out and put a puppet in. The Kim dynasty has been far too independent minded for their liking. They will learn their place as China's buffer bitch soon.

Yes, I've read quite a few books on North Korea. I especially liked Lankov's The Real North Korea. A rare example of an academic not from "the West" that lived and worked in the DPRK.

I read somewhere once that South Korean men had this stereotype that Northern women were beautiful. Then I watched some video on YT recently where they showed South Korean guys pics of random North Korean women and one guy was like oh damn...all these years i was led to believe North Korean women are hot, but these pics are completely destroying that notion. I think the South Koreans will be more pissed if China went in and oust little Kim sung FAT by force as that will equate in China invading Korea.


As the South considers it self as the sole legitimate ruler of all Korea.

I may be going of a tangent here,

I see China and NK as a threat not because of their current quality in terms of military and economic power. I am more worried about their motivation.

What are you suggesting, that they could go on the offensive? Their conventional military capabilities are becoming obsolete, South Korea is far and away their superior. In terms of nukes, we're still a ways off from them being able to threaten the US and the US is going to use NK as justification for putting advanced missile defense systems in South Korea, which will further the US agenda of containing China.

China will do everything it can to smack NK on the fanny to make them act right. China does not want 20 million refugees at it's Southern border to NK all screaming "Feed us!!" Even if China went in and removed the regime, they'd probably tell SK, "Yeahhhh, you guys take this. We like our blue jeans, Mercedes Benz's, and Coca-Cola. Enjoy!"
