isnt there like 1 month mandatory suspension for a choke loss??

I haven't heard of such. Koscheck is clearly trying to fulfill his UFC contract ASAP.

I thought chokes, like a KO, had a mandatory 1 month suspension.
correct me if I am wrong...

I thought he wants to finish his UFC contract so he can go to Bellator.

You know, maybe win once in a while again.

KOs may cause (and often do) brain traumas, hence the longer suspension to make sure everything is all right. Chokes, if you tap out wisely, don't harm as much.

Leben, after a loss, stepped up to replace an injured guy and fought twice in several weeks and he won the second fight. I guess Koscheck learned from it.

Even if you go to sleep bad with a choke, the chances that you get hurt in any form are super low.
Contrast that with the assured concussion a KO means, and it's pretty silly to put them in equal terms.

Leben actually won both those fights. As I recall it was against Aaron Simpson and Sexyama

Unless there was another time he fought twice within a couple weeks

a lot of people here seem to not understand the word mandatory!
but if he was cleared by a doctor, I guess it is OK.
still it feels pretty weird, and as someone mentioned already, he probably wants out of his contract and do whatever he feels like... GSP put an end to his championship aspirations...

Also even if it was mandatory those suspensions are issued by ACs.
If another AC deems the fighter fit to fight and clears him, they can do it.

People get choked constantly in training. Not sure why it would lead to a mandatory suspension, unless they were choked unconscious.

I think his suspension would just be the 4 days per round or whatever the minimum is.

Watching him get fucked up twice in quick succession is something that I am not prepared to question.

Idk but BetOnilne has Koscheck at +430 right now

Put some dough on him

It's Brazil. If the fight was in Vegas or the states, I bet he wouldn't be cleared. I HOPE that the UFC had a doctor clear him but I have my doubts. Pretty scummy

he's desperate. he doesn't want to leave UFC yet and he's afraid of being cut, so he's trying impress the boss
