I've seen multiple interviews in the past where Izzy expressed interest in fighting Till, so much so as saying that Till just needs to win one fight. Now I find this interview where Izzy's coach says something along the lines of "If Till beats Vettori, he's next in line" and says that Whittaker won't deserve a rematch even with a win over costa.

He says the reasoning is that the search the biggest challenge and they think Till's style presents a tough matchup for Izzy. Do you guys buy this? I don't see it, and honestly, what does whittaker need to do to deserve a rematch in these guys' eyes?

Don't think Till deserves it at the moment, but have to admit the lead up to Izzy vs Till would make for some promotional gold. If he beats Vettori I imagine this will be the fight that gets booked, regardless of the outcome of Whittaker/Costa.

He's an interesting striking challenge for him, although I do worry that the fight could be ridiculously boring.

But outside Mineev, Pereira and Mousasi he's probably the best technical striker at the weight other than Izzy and none of those guys are in the UFC.

It is puzzling - maybe he just dislikes Scousers?

The idea should be shot down immediately. Alas, I have no faith in Dana.

That being said, if Costa beats Whittaker there is no obvious #1 contender.

Till has a boney ass for a MW. I don't know what Izzy is thinking.

Maybe he wants to prove he's the better striker. Something about Darren's skills and technique might have caught his eye

Till keeps very solid distance control (at middleweight) and is a tricky southpaw. Theres a reason a guy like Whittaker called Till as tactical as he could.

Izzy is Mcgregor lite. Besides having the half guard of a white belt. Izzy doesn't want to defend his belt against rematchs just like Conor/Aldo because it's more of chance he'll lose. He will be back at LHW soon enough.

Oh god this again.

Why is his fellow Brit Leon one of the least promoted elite fighters in the UFC then?
Leon isn't marketable at all, he also doesn't have a personality and the 3 piece and soda made it even worse. Till and Bisping were average fighters pushed because they were appealing to the British audience but they're marketable and connect well with fans
