Crime Why is it no one has been arrested for crimes that were made by the Trump Foundation

They used many of the funds donated by others to pay for debts owed by Trump himself. Trump himself used 258K of the donations to settle lawsuits that involved his for profits businesses.

He even used 264K of donation money to fix a fountain outside one of his hotels.

This guy should be in jail for this. If any other person would defraud the public to the tune of over 500K we would be in jail. This guy is sitting as president though cause there are nut jobs voting.
 
The establishment isn't gonna police itself.

These people are all part of the same club and we ain't in it.

Makes you wonder what's the total of what they robbed is really. I know there must have been other debts that the family likely used the foundation to pay off.

I’ll start off by saying, I’m a republican.

Charities started by rich folks are often tax write offs, so it’s no surprise there’s some fudgy accounting by trumps. That being said, I googled and found this example

“But tax filings from that year showed that only $1.2 million of the $1.8 million raised went to St. Jude. Another $240,000 paid for expenses and $200,000 went to other organizations.”

First off, donating/raising a million dollars is more good than you or I have done. So, maybe you should be a bit thankful for what they’ve done.

Secondly, again, you’re making a big deal out of 500k (I’m not criticizing FTR). That shows me you really don’t know how crooked some of these “charities” are. We’re talking barely 10% of the money actually goes to those in need.

Long story short, if you do donate to charity, be super careful about who you deal with. Do your research.

You can try to dress a pig up and call it a model, it will always be a pig. This family is a family a crooks. Yeah it is goodd that they were able to donate some of that money to charity but using it for themselves is still a criminal activity. If this were a regular joe schmo doing it then they would be facing time in jail. I can't imagine how much time someone normal would be facing in jail time for defrauding over 500K

1k is the lower limit of a felony for theft in New York.

Think we should release all thieves who stole 500k or less? Or does that only apply in this case. It's only 500k.

Oh no, we could never stoop to arresting and convicting people who steal a measly 500 thousand dollars, could we? It's just not important!!! That would lead to a dangerous precedent of prosecuting people for financial crimes. The horror!!!

Even if he (Carlin) is totally right about this, it doesn't mean we should bend over and take it up the ass. For a while I wanted to believe that was his point, but he was really being fatalistic.

I’m actually not defending it. I’m trying to explain to you the reality of charities. Many of them spend money, in huge sums, on themselves.
