Why is fightpass such garbage?

Earlier this morning I'm streaming the new crouching tiger in glorious 4K via my samsung SUHD netflix app.

Now I'm watching fightpass and it looks like I'm watching Youtube from 10 years ago... Just awful awful quality. I'm not even a big sound guy but the sound is awful quality as well. What the fuck UFC?

Seems like the best way to push this is to offer premium quality 4K streaming with such little content out there, i guarantee people not even interested in UFC would jump on board to purchase fight pass just to get a taste of some quality sports content. But this is embarrassing.

Yeah that user interface is pretty fucking horrible. And lol @ "youtube from 10 years ago". It just seems to struggle when navigating that shit. It does work better on desktop though if thats any consolation

Fight pass is 720p i believe and compressed pretty heavy. So yeah a far cry from 2160p

What are you using to stream it? Desktop connected to TV? Is there a smart TV app now? The android app sucks. The best I've found is desktop. But honestly I don't give a shit about 4k HD and all that. I'm happy with what it is.

Yeah its a Micky Mouse product but that has to do with who the UFC hired on the web end.


Does anyone know if UG's Top Men also run FightPass ...because if that's the case ....it all makes sense.

not even 60 frames per second either, which is the standard for sports on TV so it looks like a slow motion mess.

Even 720p 60 frames would be an improvement but this 720p 30 frames is just straight trash.

It depends on how Fightpass feels that day. Right now, I'm streaming it from my phone to my tv and it's beautiful; some days I feel like I'm watching bootlegged VHS pornos from the 1990s.

Well I've found 1080i CBS and NBC look sharper and more clear than ESPN or Fox which are 720p, but it's slight.

DirecTV does 4K golf in the US, Euro does 4K soccer and basketball... Looks absolutely incredible.

i remember downloading some 720p 60fps torrents from the ufc before, not sure why this isnt default in fight pass

im not really a frame whore but in fighting its absolutely a must 60fps, it seems

Yeah it's why i always order the pay per views through comcast. Cable framerate = 60 fps, UFC streaming (regardless of source) is 30 FPS. Makes a huge difference in sports. the torrents were probably ripped from the cable feed.
