Why does Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1) always get booked against named opponents in featured bouts?

Somehow he got on two of the biggest PPVs of all time, first as the featured prelim for 148 against MELVIN GUILLARD, then as a main card attraction for 168 against JIM MILLER. Despite losing both, he's now fighting on the main card in Bangor against GRAY MAYNARD.

Why is he pushed so hard? He's only got one UFC win (against Tommy Hayden), and lost 3 times. Plus he's been sprinked with injuries inbetween.

I wonder if he has a high price tag the way he is always being fed tough fights???

He has been fighting for an absurdly long time.

This is probably what he wants.

They're not trying to sell Camoes. They're giving his opponents an opportunity to get back on track.

I think its the ufc trying to push his opponents by giving them a fight that they can win

I was surprised that he got armbarred so quickly by Jim Miller since he is a 3rd degree bjj black belt.

Basically, he's a highly regarded BJJ blackbelt and a fairly guaranteed win for someone who desperately needs one.

Really nice guy, was lucky enough to take some of his classes in San Diego at Victory MMA, shame he is given nothing but killer's that are stylistic nightmares for him (except for Hayden OBV).

I didn't know being the b side for respectable A sides to pick up wins against was an example of being pushed.

Its simple: They need to keep the bully in the ufc, so they offered an "easy fight", since Cam

He seems to be the rebound guy for when a top ten fighter loses a couple in a row or just one fight very bad. He's a decent name to put on your resume for a winnable fight.

I think some fighters have a really good relationship with Dana wich might be a reason for this, who knows.

How is this not obvious?I like Camoes but it is what it is.

He's 2-2-1 in the ufc. Also beat Kurt pelligrino and draw with uno
