Why is DC bitching about Herb Dean?

Because he did not embrace the grind in that fight. He's making excuses for his loss. He's putting his energy in the wrong places, being upset because of booing, engaging in the war of words he will lose against Jones, finding excuses for his loss, etc.

I dunno bout that, i don't think Rockhold would allow Bones to poke people in the eyes if he was a ref. Kinda joking about this but not really, it is deplorable to see how fighters get away with breaking the rules over and over and the refs just giving out empty warnings, what the fuck is the point of having rules then.

MMA fans REALLY DO just ignore that officials and their tendencies can factor into the fight. He should either not show up or just shut up because herb dean was decided to be the ref? He's put in a complaint because Dean was lax in punishing Jones's stalling and fouling, and he was, so Cormier would like to avoid that. He doesn't hate Herb Dean, he just doesn't want Dean reffing his fight with Jones. You make it so stupid with "HE SHOULD SHUT UP OR NOT SHOW UP" and "BUT HE REFFED THE GUS FIGHT THO". The world isn't built and governed by extremes.

Ali/Frazier 2 and 3 were separated by one year, the only reason 3 is remembered and 2 isn't is because in 2, the ref allowed Ali to hold Frazier illegally all night. Frazier made a big deal about it in the 3rd fight so the ref didn't allow that to happen, and the fight was much, much different. Officials and their tendencies can alter the outcome and progression of a fight. What does Jones do in the 5th if he doesn't stall? What does he do to keep Cormier out if he doesn't extend his open hand? Herb Dean proved he doesn't interfere with either of these things.

I do respect DC though, he's tough and definitely has phenomenal Greco. His style is too predictable to take on Bones Jones... If he can't bully him in the clinch then he's in for a long night.

Sea Level Cain is bigger and faster and would beat Bones just due to that extra edge in physicality but he's a HW so it's moot.

To be honest, if I had a title fight upcoming and found out Herb was refereeing I would complain as well.

I want to win, or lose fair and square, not on an unseen eyepoke, or stupid stoppage.


Good on him. If more fighters said "nah, I dont want that guy refing me" maybe they will stop putting him in charge of important fights.
