Why I respect Cub Swanson as much as I do Mcgregor

From early 2012 to late 2014,
Cub went undefeated in the UFC
against Roop, Pearson, Oliveira,
Poirier, Siver & Stephens. (He beat
Poirier & Siver before McGregor)

He then put up his streak on the
line against an elite, streaking
wrestler with a full camp
in Frankie
Edgar. It was only his second UFC
main event (the other being Stephens).

Basically, Swanson was getting no
favors from the UFC. Mcgregor,
meanwhile was being billed against
fighters coming off of KO losses in
headlining fights in Ireland. Fun fact:
Brandao got KO'd in the first round
that night in Ireland & was coming
off a 1st round KO loss against Poirier.
&Swanson had already beat Poirier
up to that point.

Cub took his ass whooping from
Frankie, &made literally no excuses.
&where was his reverence for that?

& even in conor's victory of short
notice Mendes, there were excuses
on his part, even still...

& After he loses to Edgar, he takes
on future champ Holloway. Gets his
jaw broken before the 3rd, doesn't
tell his corner & goes back out there.

As far as I'm concerned, Conor,
based on his wins & losses, is on
par with Swanson. His accolades
may be more impressive, but he
was granted a well lit path. While
Swanson has had to literally build it
himself, all throughout his career.

It's a shame that this fight never
materialized when they were both
streaking. It would have been the
clear #1 contender fight at that point.

TL;DR:
#1 Fight of the year: Reyes vs Kim
#2 Fight of the year: Swanson vs Choi

#1 Eeked Win of the year: Conor vs Diaz II

Cub was the original guy colon ducked on his way to his title shot

Cub was on an 8 fight win streak against the elite, and what did the ufc do? They made him fight Frankie fuckin Edgar, and let Conor have the title shot

Cub lost to Holloway
Conor besmirched Holloway

Cub got KO'd in 7 seconds by Aldo
Conor KO'd Aldo in 13 seconds

comparison in a nutshell. Time to stop nuthugging, TS

Cub has a unique style &

is always entertaining to watch but

Conor is several levels above Cub

probably shouldn't have gotten KO'd the 1st time around

What is this, poetry night?

I like Cub, but it's safe to say Conor probably would have broken his jaw again. Still think he deserved that title shot over Mendes.

Swanson took on full camp Mendes,
full camp Frankie & full camp Lamas.

Mcgregor got strangled to death
L, L, and...L. Frankie vs. Swanson was one of the biggest pounding you'll ever see. He was totally outclassed everywhere.

Must be Conor's fault for Aldo pulling out...

Conor took on full camp Aldo, full camp Nate, and full camp mendes = W, W, and...W

does that make you feel better?
That cub looked valiant in his
losses or that Conor would've
likely lost more than he won
against each respective opponent?

Cub looking valiant makes me
feel pretty good, sure. I'm a fan
& I find inspiration in resolve.

Conor likely losing? No. I could
care less. But it's a point of
discussion, imo.

I'm not saying any of this is Conor's
fault. He was at the right place at
the right time & he did what he
had to do. But let's not pretend that
Conor's resume would look much
different than the likes of Diaz or
Swanson had he not been favored.

That would only be relevant if Swanson was Thompson.

You really aren't good at this are you. You're not on my level.
According to your logic... Thompsom>Colon... and also Hermes Franca > Colon.

MMAth doesn't work and that aldo vs cub fight is ancient.

Ya goof

Cub is 5 years older and an established name once WEC joined UFC.

The argument is invalid as Conor had to work from the ground up. Swanson hit the ground running and still has a poorer resume'. It's like Comparing Anderson to Conor. "look at his defences vs. Conor's hur hur hur"

You are also picking and choosing points. You've mentioned Swanson and how glorious he is not mentioning his jaw. Yet you have Conor continuing with a torn ACL (a career threatening injury in some cases) and still winning.
