He said he was still injured a few days ago. He even said he might has to go through surgery in mid-april.
He's never gonna be at 100%.

Wouldn't it be better to book Khabib vs any other Lightweight?
Was nobody else willing to accept a fight vs Khabib on 6 days notice?

Mad props to Holloway for taking the fight, but damn, he is injured as far as we know so how can this be competitive?

That's my concern too. I would love to see Khabib vs Max at 155 when both have a fully camp and are healthy, now with the short notice fight and Max still recovering, I am unsure if we'll see anything close to a prime Max in there.
 
Because at this point any LW except Tony and Conor is a mismatch against Khabib. We saw Khabib vs. gatekeepers way too many times to be interested in another one

vs. Max might be a mismatch too, but he's a champ so at least its interesting
 
I remember Alvarez saying in an interview as well he was preparing just in case the fight fell through... doesn't make sense.
 
Hopeing Holloway comes in and takes this fight would be awesome

Max doesn't have a huge yay factor. Maybe it's his face but when he's announced, the excitement isn't there. Who's left and ready? Eddie, Poirier ... Gatheje just lost but we'll watch that anyways
 
Why not? Plus 155s May have a harder time making weight short notice
 
Even for a fully geared up Max this is a very very hard fight. For an injured unprepared Holloway? Would take a miracle.
 
In an interview a while ago Khabib's manager had said that Poirier would be the stand by option.
 
Max is walking into a slaughter, but dammit I'd wager he's the only fighter that's not already in the Lightweight Division that's willing to fight such a monster. Not even Tyron Woodley wants a piece of Khabib.

Dana kills two birds with one stone, he doesn't like Max, he barely promotes him. Holloway's gotten all his fans by himself and had to win 10+ fights before he got a damn Title Shot! Holloway's received no hand outs from Dana White, he may have Main Evented PPV's but you can see Dana doesn't value him the same way he does Conor, he's willing to sacrifice Max and send him to the slaughter than McGregor.

If Holloway loses that streak is over, he'll never get that again, he won't lose his belt, but he's been on an incredible 11 Fight Win Streak.

It's not right, but dammit Max is one crazy Hawaiian and I fucking love him for it.

I'm not saying healthy Holloway hasn't got a chance against Khabib, but letting an INJURED fighter who maybe has to go through surgery fight is pretty fucking reckless, ain't it?
 
Holloway's got more balls than Conor, I'll give him that.

He's bigger than Conor, was injured but he can make weight?!

Holloway was just enough of a sucker to be brought and sacrificed to save an event

With the hype behind this one they were fucked if they couldn't put something good together

He's already injured, how can they book this?!
