Why do they even bother with the coaches opinions on this show when Dana is just going to do his own matchmaking anyway?

Jones and Sonnen both go for the same semis and Dana does what he wants. I'm not saying his opinion is necessarily a bad one but why bother with the charade?

i think the majority of the time dana will go with the coaches thoughts

this was a clear instant that he wanted hall and josh in the finale

I think the promoter in him couldn't pass up a fight as big as the possible Hall v Josh fight.

Yeah I think he just wanted a great final. Makes sense, but I was hoping to see Uriah smash Josh next week.

Oh well.

This has been a great season thus far btw. Especially after last season's abomination... Couldn't even watch that crap.

He didn't go with the coaches opinions for the quarter finals either.

It's all for show. Why go with the fighters opinions? Why listen to anybody?

Because maybe one of the coaches would make a point that persuaded him to change his mind. They didnt, so he did it his way.

It doesnt matter anyway. Uriah is winning this thing with no effort.

coaches are making moves for their team.

dana is making moves for the company lol

hall vs josh is going to be a hyped final. dana wins again

he really set up bubba. dana was trying to make sure the wrestlers stayed away from hall and lined him up with weaker stand up guys. well played dana

I just mentioned that in another thread. To be honest, proclaiming Uriah as a title contender already sure sounds like a case of jumping the gun big time. Hall got two of the weakest fighters in the house, in my opinion and like you said, neither was a wrestler.

It is obvious that Dana/UFC wants to have the 2 best fighters on the card. Nothing is wrong with that.

I like Kelvin. I hope he doesn't get destroyed or anything. That one knock out he has was just insane!

All these ^^

But tbh we might not even see that 'hyped' fight - Kelvin could 'ruin' it seriously.

Well all the possible matchups could have intriguing build up. Hall/Samman rivalry, Kelvin the youngest fighter at 21 in the finals, and Dylan the overall last pick. Samman is obviously the most hated of them all.

Dana has always done what he wants.

i think Kelvin is going to do what Jimmy didn't and thats hold Josh down and do damage. i can easily see Kelvin knocking Josh out from ground strikes.

Samman is a pretty good promoter himself. I knew he would not want to fight Hall, but he did a good job hyping the finals.

If Josh brings it, this potential matchup has the potential to be a GREAT final.

If he took the coaches' matchups, then the winner of the Hall/Samman bout would be assumed to roll over whoever survived between Kelvin/Dylan.

It'd be ridiculous to have the 2 most proven guys from either team meet up in the semis. You don't have number 1s in the NCAA Basketball tournament play the number 2s in the round of 64...

It's just weird, cause i think a potential fight between dylan and uriah is much more marketable than Josh - Uriah. Dylan is the fucking heart and soul of the competition, and everybody likes him and pulls for him. I mean he's the underdog right? Josh is pretty disliked by the fans if you go by what people are saying on the forums do to him trying to avoid tough match-ups and throwing his teammates under the bus. A fight between Josh and Dylan in the semi's would be brilliant 'cause it could either further endear Dylan to the viewers if he won and further vilify Josh if he won due to him beating the guy everyone likes.

It makes the most sense to have those two fights as the semis.

I'm still not quite sure why Jones asked for Josh and Uriah, surely as a coach you want your best guy to get the easiest route to the final plus surely you would back up your own fighter who asked for the other guy.. bit of a strange one.
