The ref doesn't need a whistle because he is standing right next to the fighters and the arena is not that loud compared to the average NBA or NFL game.
yes. nothing is going to stop dan henderson from getting in a cheap shot. he has proven that many times.
That’s the lowest brow perspective I’ve encountered in years.
That makes a ton of sense.Has this off the wall question ever been asked before? Do you think a whistle could've prevented the H bomb?

Okay, the fighters wear a whistle also. “Robbie, you okay man? Whistle once for yes and two times for no.”Do you think that would have been more useful than Herb Dean actually grabbing his arm and having Lawler pull it away from him, whuch us what happened?
LOL at a whistle stopping the H-bomb.
The question is "why would you want to stop the H bomb?"
Not disagreeing on whistles not being needed, but I think Chad Mendes would feel differently on arenas not being that loudThe ref doesn't need a whistle because he is standing right next to the fighters and the arena is not that loud compared to the average NBA or NFL game.
Sadly true. Most idols in this game are shit humans, Hendo being a prime example.yes. nothing is going to stop dan henderson from getting in a cheap shot. he has proven that many times.
Say more, I'm not sure what you are referring to.I think Chad Mendes would feel differently on arenas not being that loud
Aldo-Mendes II in Brazil. Mendes got dropped hard after the first round ended because the ref didn't hear the clapper or the horn over the crowd.Say more, I'm not sure what you are referring to.
My point about arenas not being loud compared to NBA games is based on going to a UFC event in the same arena in which I have seen many NBA games. It was significantly less noisy imo.
Please, enlighten us with your intellectual and philosophical views on whistle usage in professional sports.
I remember Mendes getting dropped right at/after the end of the round, but I never heard that bit with the ref explained. Solid counter example to my point then.Aldo-Mendes II in Brazil. Mendes got dropped hard after the first round ended because the ref didn't hear the clapper or the horn over the crowd.
