Why don't people understand Khabib was literally messing around??

He was toying with Al.

I think khabib doesn’t wanted to punish AI because of respect. He doesn’t wanted AI to look bad imo, so he made it like a sparring session and enjoy the 4th and 5th round the first time.

Yes, he was clearly "fucking around" when winning the belt meant so much for him.

You people will tell yourself anything to maintain your fantasies.
For sure.

I think what people mean by "fucking around" was allowing himself to stand with him though. He could've taken him down continually for 5 rounds and just rode him and beat his ass but he chose to keep It on the feet and test the waters. Definitely some element of toying with him there.

Either that or they put on a glorified sparring match.

Yeah right..Like investment brochures say - previous performance is no guarantee of future results..

As the round ticked on Kahbib failed to on many TD attempts. It gets harder as you get tired so he had no choice but to stand. Thankfully for Khabib Al was terrified of TD like most of Khabibs opponets he did'nt unload. I assure you Tony wont have that problem

I guess

Definitely felt more like a sparring match than anything honestly though.

I feel like if he really wanted to, he could've just rode him and mauled him for 5 rounds without much effort or even finished him.

Maybe it was the same thing like when DC fought Anderson. That sort of thing is way more common than we probably realize, even In boxing.

But who knows, lol.

Yeah no idea what the TS is talking about here. He landed plenty of shots on the ground in the first two rounds.

Eh, rewatched the fight and he's right. It seems like Al was doing a good job of standing back up which forced Khabib to drag him onto the fence more and hence he couldn't land as many good shots as he had with his previous opponents. So it wasn't a deliberate decision not to hit him as much.

Still weird for Khabib to strike for two consecutive rounds though.

Khabib fans sounding like Anderoid nuthuggers

I just watched it then and fully agree with you. He ensured he had won the first 2 rounds and then clocked up octagon stand up exchange experience for 2.5 rounds (which is way better than practice sparring session time)
Sure what he displayed isnt even close to the top tier striking at LW, but he definately won the stand up. Not saying al has worse striking either but the constant threat of td and peppering jabs is enough for an elite fighter to not get their best shots off. Khabib was experimenting with his skillset in full competition, because he could.
Al did what he could and showed he is full of heart and is one of the best in the world.
People need to stop listening to rogans bias payed off bullshit he spews while calling fights. Shitting on khabibs performance when he won every second of that fight.
Im not a hater or hugger of either but after reading the reactions here and then watching the fight it made me realise how idiotic some sherdoggers are.

You're all fucking retarded.

Khabib wasn't messing around. He was trying to win the goddamn belt.

Right. He was trying to show everyone how bad his striking defense is... makes sense.

And I'm a hater after saying he has the best top control in the history of the UFC. Makes sense too. You're an idiot.

Dude im sorry you are such a simpleton that you can't decipher basic things happening in front of you. Sounds like I struck a cord, take a deep breath and just accept the reality that your probably just not a bright person in general.

I’m glad he dropped the gnp, boring to watch. He wouldn’t have got away with that stand up against Tony or Max.

Messing around or not Khabib showed that he has decent striking offense, but absolutely terrible striking defense.

I think Khabib didn't want mauling AL, and try to finish him fast in first and second rounds. But he underestimate Al's ground game. And after he can't finish, he just enjoy, and have fun with fight.

I actually am not a Khabib fan, but I recognize how good he is.

As for him not getting the TD, he got one 1 minute into the first round FFS, in his first attempt. He got multiple in the second as well. He didn't attempt one in the 3rd and 4th. Not one attempt. How do you explain that difference? He simply didn't want to and wanted to strike. Pretty obvious stuff tbh.

I was thinking the same thing. The moment he decided that he wanted a takedown in the fifth, he began pressing and stuck Al against the cage.

He didn't do any GnP for the first two rounds, while he was in very advantageous positions and it was obvious he could've mauled Al. Then for the next two he attempted 0 takedowns, fucking 0, and easily outstruck a very good striker and boxer. The only round he really had trouble in was the 5th, proving that he doesn't have perfect cardio, but if he had mauled Al for the previous 4 he would've easily finished him before even reaching the 5th.

He literally was playing around doing random shit to entertain the fans. Going for subs early which isn't his style, striking for two rounds, attempting no takedowns 3 minutes into the 5th.

The fight was a joke for him.
Sure. Kebab - a virgo - playing around when the title he craves is at stake.
My ass, he fought his best and Raging Al almost KOd the bum.
Condor via 1st round KO.

Khabib was in trouble in the 5th? LOL no...

You guys are giving Khabib a little too much credit now. He was trying to finish Al, even in the early rounds. He struggled and couldnt get takedowns in rounds 3 and 4. He won and is the champ, but dont take it that far
