Why doesn't RDA/Conor feel legendary?

This fight could be history. This is an incredibly important marking stone in UFC. But it doesn't feel like it? Is it just me?? The hype feels weak. The event feels overlooked. Aldo/Mcgregor felt 100X more epic and larger.

Conor's been too busy hanging out with Charlie Brown to talk shit.

Also because there was no world wide media tour or bad blood.

And also he has no history in the division. He rose up and fought his way to the title which created drama. There is no history at LW.

He also hasnt established himself as a decent champion, most educated fans who train consider him mediocre skill wise.

Bj Penn vs GSP 2 was epic. Two established champions fighting at WW in a rematch. There was bad blood, a media tour and all the essentials to make it epic.

Conor is good, but the UFC is forcing him down everyones throat with a title shot he never earned (for the second time).

Because neither man have been champions for a long periode..

Not enough WWE antics and shit talk i guess

Because it isn't.

Anecdotally, the guys I know who are casual UFC fans were unaware Conor is moving up to fight for the lightweight belt but were excited about the Aldo fight. Perhaps the UFC isn't spending as much marketing this one or something.

Anyways they've not been champion long enough, this is not a super fight.

I still have no idea why this fight was made. It makes no sense, and undermines the sport.

As a hardcore fight fan, I'm hyped out of my mind for this one. Most of my casual friends need context ;_;

I get the sense the UFC is trying to spend the least amount possible on marketing it, thinking it will sell itself?

But you're right... in terms of build-up it's starting to feel like a fart in the wind.

I'm like excited for the opportunity Conor's receiving but I feel like this should be THE FIGHT that EVERYONE EVERYWHERE in mma looks forward to. To me it should be like Jones/Cain would have been or GSP/Silva.

It's rda

Dude sucks the life out of the room during pres conferences etc...

Because RDA is a nonentity.
