Other fighters seem to shout out Yoel as a beast and the fighter they'd least like to fight, guys like Woodly saying he would want nothing to do with him, just watched an interview with Till and he says he's glad Yoel is moving up a weight because he doesn't want to fight him because he's a fucking beast... No one ever seems to mention Whittaker, even though he fought and beat Yoel twice, is unbeaten at 185, took out Jacare too at a point people where avoiding him.

Why is he not seen as a beast and the top dog?

He is a great fighter but not as intimidating as Yoel.

Cause Romero is a freaking beast, he badly injured Whittaker in the two fights and he could have won the second fight if it weren't for the judges

compared to Anderson's best years, he's not facekicking people into Jesus grace

Maybe that is it, he wins fights but he doesn't bring the dramatic finishes that Yoel does. It seems like 9/10 fighters would pick Whittaker as the easier fight but he's shown that he's the best in the division..

He's a quiet nice guy. He's a damn killer in the octagon though, his skills are highly underestimated on these boards. He beat Yoel with a serious injury in both fights.

Whittaker is absolutely a beast, just in a different way. Whittaker will beat you with speed and technique. Yoel will turn your lights out with one shot. He's done it repeatedly, and while Whittaker might be the slightly better fighter, he's not the most dangerous or intimidating guy at 185.

Whittaker is as tough, gritty, and skilled as they come, but other fighters are openly nervous about fighting Romero and not him for a reason.

Because as talented as Whittaker is, he's less likely to give you brain damage or one shot KO you.

Not that hard to understand.

fight fans and fighters too are a bunch of gays who are completely obsessed with physique. this is especially shocking since we have seen guys like bob sapp and mariusz pudzianowski totally suck balls at fighting despite being radioactive human laboratories.

watch joe rogan, brendan schaub and bryan callen discussing mma fighters and see how long it takes for them to go from

fighting -> physique -> j.j.j.JACKED -> "dude's got a great ass" -> "dude has a great big cock"

Because Bisping/GSP/UFC took a dump on the Middleweight division, so as far as the casual fan is concerned, Whittaker is a paper champion?

Because Whittaker doesn't talk trash?

I was impressed with his heart in the Romero rematch, but I imagine for others all they saw was the champion getting beat up because of those highlight moments from Romero.

because he is a WW who moved up, never was loud or disrespectful and beat up beasts on his path to the throne...

IMHO it was just too fast, while people were looking elsewhere (the top 4 of Luke, Weidman, Yoel & Jacare and GSP who also attracted more interest than the champ)

but once the smoke cleared, we noticed that the smoke was from GSP doing his best impression of Forrest gump:

Ands THAT is when people finally noticed Whittaker... the champ!!

Everyone fears the guy with punching power the most even if he's not the best fighter in the division.

For example, most fighters would probably prefer to face GSP rather than Lawler even if GSP is the better fighter. Because Lawler has more chances to KO you or seriously hurt you.

Same goes with Ngannou and Stipe. Stipe is the better fighter but i'm sure 99% of people would prefer to face him rather than Ngannou.

Same principle with Romero..

As tough as all of the guys who compete in MMA are, no one wants to get concussed or brain damaged. The guys with the most potential to knock you out will always be the most feared.

i think its because of his goatee.
