Is it because Chandler is the champion and can't come over to ufc?

seriously Chandler > Alvarez...he finished him ffs.

sherdog where no one understand what the fuck a contract is

championship clause- its a bitch.

Because he is still under his contract while Eddie is technically a free agent. (Really isn't due to stupid fight clause but u get the idea)

not only does he still have fights on his contract, but it will be really hard to yank him away.

Eddie is a much bigger name and has been talked about as an elite level LW for years. That loss hurt him a lot less than I thought it would. Coming back and annihilating Aoki certainly didnt hurt either. And obviously the contract issue.

No way can get they get Chandler, and despite losing to Chandler, Alvarez is a MUCH bigger name.

Whats crazy is Bellator fucked up and made Eddie a bigger star and a higher paid fighter even though he lost.

Chandler is a young, marketable, unbeaten fighter who just took out Eddie for the title in a FOTY type fight.

What does Bellator do? They give him one fight in 2012 vs Gono in a pointless super fight. What do they do for Eddie? They give him a top 5 Aoki and Pitbull. They let him get two wins, build his profile up again and now he gets paid a big contract by either the UFC or Bellator, meanwhile Chandler sits on the shelf and fights one pointless fight in 2012.

Had they not be stuck in that format they could have done Chandler/Aoki, Chandler smashes him and all of a sudden he has 2 wins in a row vs top 5/10 opponents and his stock is at an all time high as they move to Spike.

Its clear they cared more about the guy who lost than the guy who won.

They are a smaller company and had a lot of time and money invested into Eddie, but they should be putting more into marketing Chandler without a doubt.

It's all about hurting the competition. Eddie isn't a title contender in UFC, but his name is valuable to Bellator, so the UFC wants it.

Eddie isnt a contender in the UFC?

I'm not saying he would win the title but he would absolutely be a contender and in the mix.

Also look at his fighting style, you know in an Alvarez fight he is either gonna knock someone out or finish them, get knocked down and possibly get finished or its gonna be a FOTN type fight. His fights would be bonus fights everytime, he is an exciting fighter and could def compete with the mid and upper LW in the UFC.

Maybe he doesnt win them all but he would def be a great addition to the UFC LW div. Thats why the UFC wants him, frankly he isnt a big draw or huge star name but he is a top fighter who comes to fight and it would be taking Bellators biggest name so thats also a plus if you are the UFC.

Thats up for debate, I think he would certainly be a title contender.

Because Eddie is a free agent and Chandler isn't. Seriously, people are stupid.

name recognition

If Chandler didn't have his contract with bellator I would rather have him before Eddie but I think they both belong in UFC .

We have a winner.

Plus, Alvarez has been a big name for quite a few years. As for Chandler, if he defends his belt for all of 2013 (with 3 or more title wins), then he will definitely become a big name. But as it stands, even after beating Alvarez in a FOTY-status fight, he hasn't been around long enough to sow what he has reaped (a legacy built off an unbeaten record against several top 30 LWs).

Eddie is a bigger star easily, hes had years where hes been making his name.Chandler has became a star just more recently. You'd find more casual fans that know who Eddie is, yet not quite as many for Chandler. Also Chandler is tied under contract, so no interest in trying to get him because he couldn't go anyway.
