Why does the UFC not do cards with big name European fighters in the day, so European fans can watch the fight live at a regular time? It seems like doing Gus and Jones on a Sunday at noon would be more profitable to them, providing it wasn't during football season. The amount of money they would gain in PPV or advertising frm the Euro market seems like it would be a lot if they stacked an american card with Euro fighters.

They have to stay consistent to not confuse people since the main buyers are still americans. The vast majority of those that watch particularly European are catholic and aren't supposed to watch something like UFC on a sunday.

PPV providers would probably have a say so in when/what time the event airs in their slot. I know the UFC got a lot of static from them for putting on UFC 112 at like mid day. Haven't done it again since.

because the euro fans do not pay ppv. They all watch it on regular or premium channels who pay the ufc a fee for the broadcast rights. Ppv is strictly a north america and occasionally enland product. It would make sense if they did but since america and canada are the only 2 paying ppv it goes live at primetime for those markets

ufc fighters aren't morning people

Being Italian and Catholic, I can promise you most of the people that watch the UFC in Italy would have no problem watching MMA on a Sunday. As would the rest of Europe.

Sunday just isn't a good day to do events in general.

Who are big name European fighters?

Gustafsson
Overeem
Bisping
Mousasi
...
The Al Capone?

If you guys want better cards, start warming up to the idea of paying a shitload of money for a PPV. As long as you're getting UFC events free or part of your TV package for <$10 a month, the UFC can't afford to give you too many big names.
