Why does the UFC expect us to buy crappy PPV's and Fight Pass?

Let's be honest so far the Fight Pass cards have been pretty much terrible. You can not watch them and not really miss that much in the MMA world because they aren't really that good. Also lately PPV's have been very subpar, like this one with Mighty Mouse. He is a very good fighter but he's not someone that can carry a ppv card at all. Honestly I'll be shocked if that card sells more than 250k buys. Same thing applies to the recent Barao card, and the under cards have been not good. A ppv should typically not have fighters I've never heard of on them. The UFC has downgraded the quality of their product but now is asking even more of the consumer to watch it. I understand I don't have to buy it and all that nonsense but it still applies.

I bought Fight Pass. It's ten dollars a month, get a job.

The fights this year and last year have been the best I have ever seen. UFC has more talent than ever and there are more fights than ever...I am loving it

just because you've never heard of them they shouldnt be in a PPV card. In fact, most of the ''unknown'' fighters usually deliver a great show because they want to be on the top level, sometimes they even deliver more than the superstars.

superstars play it safe, underrated fighters deliver and put on a great show, on an average basis...seems like a win

so you want to be an ultimate fighter fan?

That is true sometimes BUT I personally would rather watch a fight between two big name guys that isn't a bar burner than a great fight between two guys I've never heard of. To me when I know the guys fighting and they are big names it adds a whole new feeling to the fight, it makes me really watch the fight not just casually watch for a cool sub or ko

Because they don't. Bitch and moan all you want but they could give a rats ass if you buy in to it or not. They don't expect you to pay.

Honest question. Do you think the UFC folds if not a single person bought a PPV and not a single person purchased Fight Pass?

No I want to watch fights between people I know. I would really like if ppv cards had more than one or two big fights on them. And not like Cormier vs Hendo. I'm talking about legitimate big fights like JDS vs Overeem or something

Why do people bitch about Fight Pass? Is $10 a month really that unreasonable?

I don't think the Fight Pass cards have been that bad really. Hell, watching Dong Hyun Kim knock-out John Hathaway with a spinning elbow was well worthy my $10. Same with seeing Mousasi and Maximo Blanco on the same card.

People bitch about the UFC not building the next generation of stars... well how the hell do you expect them to find any future PPV talent if they don't put on fights? The great thing about MMA is that any card has the possibility to be the best of the year. Really. Crazy shit happens, and I want to see it.

And keep in mind, the biggest budget, most crazy-hyped card won't necessarily be any good.

I see what you're saying, but if that's the case, why not strictly watch fights in smaller orgs? You know those guys are the hungriest of all!

Because they're a business with little competition.

yes

If my internet wasn't so fucking shitty that I'd lose service three or four times throughout the event, I'd buy Fightpass.

There's usually a couple live events a month and a ton of old stuff to watch.

TS obviously doesn't think it's worth it. Do you buy things that you think aren't worth the price just because they are only $10?

So you are the casual fan, that makes sense. Im not insulting you, but Fight pass is intended for more intense fans of the sport who really enjoy MMA overall and are willing to pay a little more (10 bucks a month is not bad) to get more access to more fights and perks and follow MMA daily

on the ppv matter , you can just hit the bar and watch the fights you want for much less and have a great time on the way

Not sure how you can talk smack about that last PPV...

-Dillashaw's totally unexpected victory to gain the strap!

-Robbie Lawler's continued resurgence!

-Cormier tooling one of the GOATs!
