this is an MMA website not a politics website. And Danny Acosta is such a hack. It's really off putting.

no link? 99% of sherdoggers never read the front page.

I don't read the front page unless I want to check the round by round of a fight. I link straight to the forums

Because...you can't stump the Trump.

Nobody can stop talking about him. ;)

Does anyone here even read any Sherdog original content. Many moons ago I followed the rankings but then I realized they're shit and just skipped straight to the forums.

Sherdog is so desperate for people to read stuff written by their "journalists" that they installed that stupid Twitter feed gadget on the right-hand side of the screen. They're hoping we'll accidentally give their content a view once in a while that way due to our eyes straying a little bit to the right.

Same here - I used to check the rankings and a few interviews, but now there's content everywhere for interviews.

Occasionally I'll still check the weigh-in pics just to see if someone looks like they skipped a few training sessions.

lol its really intrusive.

Shame on TS for potentially directing posters to Sherdog content.

I like how so many of the comments below that article have stuff like "I come to Sherdog to get away from politics!"

Yeah, I'm sure these guys are savvy, sophisticated political observers that go to Sherdog for a little reprieve... and then they have to read more political stuff here

I wouldn't really care about it if it was a well written article that didn't just call Trump bullshit names like "islamaphobic", criticize him of "hate speech" (which means nothing in a country of free speech), and not actually source any of the claims it makes on Trump.

I'd more than likely be put in the middle of the left on some sort of political scale, but idiots who write this article just make me like Trump because most of the articles I see about Trump are like this.

Because liberals can't help but stick their noses into affairs that have nothing to do with them and are beyond their intellectual scope.

I usually do read front page content, but only every three or four days. You usually never miss anything. In both quantity / frequency and quality of commentary (most of the times, there is good stuff) Sherdog cannot really compete with the big sites. The forums are Sherdog's huge asset.

I first encountered Sherdog in the late 1990s when they had downloadable UFC mpegs. That was even before the page looked like this:

https://web.archive.org/web/20000408151028/http://www.sherdog.com/index1.html

It is why I returned here many years later when I actually started to follow MMA.

Used to read most everything on the front page, but not I usually go straight to forums.

It's a well-kept secret that the overwhelming majority of sports writers are liberal.

The author didn't write the article for you and me, but to shine up his resume for a future position at a 'more legitimate' publication.

As far as Trump is related to the sport, when UFC was blacklisted from many arenas, Trump opened his casinos to events early in Zuffa's reign. Whatever you think of him politically, he should be given credit for his contribution to where MMA is today.

And I'm looking forward to the article, by the same writer, about how Bernie Sanders is going to be as horrible.

Ain't gonna fucking happen.

It's been said that social conservatives view everything through the prism of religion. There's a valid counterpoint to that argument - that liberals view everything through the prism of their politics. This author felt morally compelled to write that article the way Jehova's Witnesses feel morally compelled to incessantly knock on your door or Hari Krishnas feel compelled to chase you around the airport. It's a compulsion to obnoxiously foist their beliefs on others in the most inappropriate settings. All three are the exact same brand of annoying.
