Why does Ronda and her people talk about boxing instead of grappling?

I don't know that it has anything to do with cowardice... I think that she calls those people out because they're in sports or occupations that are more famous than MMA. So she's doing it so that people will say "UFC" and Lebron James in the same sentence. It makes a ton of sense as a marketing ploy. If Ronda beats holm on the feet, that will answer some questions.

Holm is 33-2 in boxing and had belts in 3-4 weight classes.

Exactly. The Ronda/Floyd videos on youtube have combined over a million views. The idea is to get more fame/followers by getting your name to come out of more and more famous peoples mouths.

Ronda fighting at ADCC would help the ADCC more than it would help Ronda.

As everyone has already stated, calling out those people gets more attention for her and the ufc.

That being said, I would really like to see her compete in top level submission grappling.

It's not an excuse to say that you'd do it if they match your current salary. They asked her if she'd do EBI, ADCC or Metamoris. She said she'd be interested if they paid her the same as the UFC.

Until EBI, ADCC and Metamoris actually have real money to pay her, it makes no sense for her to consider doing them. You expect her to pay for a camp, sparring partners, lock up months of her time instead of doing other paying projects, and put herself through training for free?

And of course she'll talk about boxing over grappling. Boxing has a significant fan base. Outside of BJJ and MMA boards, nobody's even heard of ADCC, Pans, Mundials or Metamoris.

If she calls out fighters in Mundials, she might get a headline that's read by a few thousand people. If she calls out Mayweather, it gets picked up by SI, ESPN and USA Today.

Ronda is great in the clinch and scrambles, she has tremendous core strength. Her boxing is rudimentary and sloppy. If someone in the mens division came straight forward marching with they're chin up they would get sleeped.

Holly is an established champion boxer who is fighting mma. Boxing and mma are apples and oranges. All the women fear the clinch with Ronda and cannot sit in the pocket for even a moment. In a boxing match Holly would stop Ronda, just like Jorrina who sucks at mma gave Cyborg a beating.

Ronda will run in and block some shots with her face and land a few going to the clinch, after which all the noobs will scream about how Ronda is a world class boxer. Ronda is the best wmma fighter in her weight class for sure but would not crack the top 20 in womens boxing without that clinch/takedown. Not with the skill set she has now and that's a fact.

Id give her a far better shot at a pure grappling tourney than any sort of pure striking one.
