Why does chili explode in the microwave

Cover it with Tinfoil before you turn on the microwave. That should help.

the water inside the beans boils and then they explode from the pressure

welcome to the 1960s.

Its to thick for the heat bubbles to escape thus they build up and release all at once creating a miniature chili explosion. Dont be lazy, heat that shit up in a pot.

There it is.

Always, always heat the Chili up in a pot, it's much better.

PRO TIP: If your not in a hurry, heat things up like pizza or a burrito in the oven, it will preserve that crispness to the crust or shell so you don't get that chewy kind when heated in a microwave. It just takes a bit longer is all, but so worth it.

One of the reasons, that I don't own a microwave is that everything tastes better if you heat it up in a pot, pan or oven.

same reason cats do.......

Microwaves are good for heating up some quick nachos or water, or some quick popcorn.
They have their uses here and there but yes, heat it up the right way, slower, but much much better.
