Why does Anderson Silva get released from his Ufc contract so he can box but not GSP?

Anderson fought out his entire contract, he didn't ask to be released

Dana milked Anderson for all he was worth, it got to the point if a chase hooper type finished Anderson, none of the marketing and buzz would transfer to the newer fighter.

Imagine how hyped some of these dudes would be if they brutally finished a washed gsp. Dana literally gives zero fucks about fighters legacies, as evident in him basically calling jones out over the ngannou shit. Fuck having a great person in history like a Michael Jordan of mma. When he’s old and done just let the new dudes style on him to make their name. If you can sell fights and give Dana even a little bit of trouble, he’s gunna try to get you to lose to a new hype job with bad match making.

TLDR: Anderson has no shine to give to the fighters he was losing to, so no big deal

Gsp could have really hyped up some fighters with some big losses. Imagine if after Bisping gsp got literally destroyed by Whittaker. Whittaker would be hyped beyond belief and that would transfer to israe eventually when Robby was kod

Gsp took his shine and maintained his legacy. Anderson didn’t.

They would’ve released GSP to box anybody, except Delahoya most likely.

Obviously GSP has more value at this point and maybe White is doing it out of spite.

Edit. I guess the UFC released Silva with one fight left. Either way GSP should fulfill his contract if he wants to be free

What is the UFCs justification in letting one former champ have their freedom but not the other?
Easy answer, UFC was done with Anderson (didn't want him anymore) but they weren't done with GSP

It's the exact same scenario that came out this week in the NFL. Former player and hall of famer Calvin Johnson was complaining as to "why didn't the Lions trade me when I wanted to be traded but yet they granted Matthew Stafford the option to be traded when he asked" ?

Simple answer, the Lions wanted Johnson but where finished with Stafford.

Dana White is literally the devil, this explains almost all the business decisions the UFC makes.

No going into the Hall fight he had 2 fights remaining. Dana stated he regretted having the Hall fight and released him of his contract in November (he had one fight left)

Because Anderson fought out his contract.

UFC threw him to the lions to build up younger guys names(Adesanya,Hall,Jared). No respect for the great man. But Anderson took the fights and now will hopefully reap the rewards with a massive payday against Roy Jones.

GSP dropped 2 belts ducked some tough fights and left the ufc in limbo. Why should Dana do him a favour and let him fight Oscar. I'm glad its Vitor getting that payday.

Anderson has saved cards while GSP renegged on defending MW belt and before that bailed on Hendricks rematch.

GSP also refused to move up and fight Anderson for years in a fight that the fans, media and brass all wanted, and yet when Bisping is there for the taking Georges can’t add mass quick enough.

Dana said he can tell GSP is not serious about returning to the ufc at 40 years old, so why not free him from his contract so he can box too?

he wasnt released to go box. he was let go cause he had 1 fight on his deal an the ufc didnt like seeing him lose any more.

the ufc doesnt want to reward gsp for not fighting in the ufc when he held things up for them. also why reward oscar who dana cant stand.

I think Anderson basically got released because he's a liability at this point, much like BJ Penn, and the UFC can't use him anymore.

But yeah, I think it's bullshit that the UFC can cockblock GSP from competing in a totally different sport.

losing didnt help./

Anderson took roids to recover from a horrific leg break at the end of his career. During his prime his body was soft and flabby and yet still clowned people to the highest level while GSP was jabbing and mixing in takedowns - tactical. I don’t get why GSP is worshipped so much. He selfishly employed an Uber risk averse style to the detriment of the fans, only a select few fans would actually enjoy watching that, because those guys were already fans of GSP and so took vindication out of his dominant performances. Also GSP left the sport immediately after his first real fight in years against Hendricks, crying that he wanted more stringent drug testing then leaving the sport as soon as Usada came in.
Anderson Silva took a steroid AFTER a leg break that has a known side effect of decreasing bone density?

Yeah, ummm... that doesn't make any sense.

AS' body changed FAR more than GSP's throughout his career bud. lol

Because GSP didn't spent his career licking Dana's boots, unlike a certain steroid cheat, so Dana is pissy that one champion stood against his bullshit and is now being a bitch about it.

Wonder what Silva did to make it up to Dana, after he destroyed UFC 112 , and got the entire arena booing at UFC 97 <6>

Anderson refused to move down to 170 and fight GSP for years in a fight that the fans, media (Dana kept saying that Anderson told him that he could EASILY make 170) and brass all wanted, and yet when FW Connor McGregor is there for the taking, Anderson can’t shoot steroids into his dick fast enough to go down to WW

Dana kicked Anderson out with one fight left on his contract, because he was an "embarrassment" in the Hall fight, or something.

Silva is completely irrelevant to the GOAT picture, while GSP is still top 3 in every poll out there (he's still number 1 in the latest one of Sherdog).

Dana milked all the roids our of Anderson Silva, who hasn't won a fight in his last 9, since Derek Brunson got brutally robbed in their fight, just ask Dana <BC1>

Riddled with spelling mistakes and full of nothing points. Should have saved the time with this one, at least I am more skilled in deciphering childish drivel now though.

Because GSP is considered the UFC goat. Not Dana’s job to build up boxing by letting his goat get wrecked by a transvestite boxer who’s past his prime. GSP made his money. If he wants back, it should be in the cage.
