why do young professional women have problem dating guys with low paying jobs?

Well, no chick is getting her hands on my money anyway so it's pointless for her to size up my earning ability.

Likewise, I don't care what a woman does for a living as long as she's cool to hang with and reasonably attractive.

Thank you.. Im a man, you look good ima smash, no matter what you do. How am I supposed to tell the mother of my child (who is sucessful) that im dating a fry cook..

so sara jean underwood loses all of her money and has to work at McD's..you wouldn't date?

If they actually do have a problem with it, they are one of those women who want the best of both worlds.. they want to make their own money and be independent if need be, but also have someone take care of them if they feel so inclined.

That's just one of the things you have to accept about society today. A lot of times they are women that want a guy that is a push over and stands behind them and pats them on the back for everything they do.

In sum, just stay away from them and let them be alone.
This, my friends, is one of the best posts I've ever read on this forum.

I would take three jobs, possibly one at McD's, just so she would never have to work again. I would never let her stoop to that level.

my girl is about to be done with her masters, she goes to Columbia/works there, so I'm over there all the time.

the neighborhood/campus is pretty sweet, I was actually born only a few blocks away but moved out of nyc before high school. what do u do and what's ur girl studying if u don't mind me asking?

I would let her work there. It would lower her self-confidence and I would add to that with daily insults. this would ensure that she stays with me.

I bet your baby mother would be jealous if you were dating a fry cook that looked way better than her. Deep down inside it would probably eat her up especially if you were happy with this fry cook.

She goes to teachers college and is studying Law and Educational Institutions.

I do IT

Well, either all of these women are somehow incapable of individual choice and thought and signed some contract not to date guys from a lower income bracket, or you are doing something unappealing. Almost definitely the first one.

Lol sounds like a full proof plan, and now that I think about it she would most likely cheat, then leave me. And I would be all fat and greasy from working at McD's.

Lol true but I would be willing to bet there is not one fry cook in the world that looks better than her.. at least when it comes to my prefrence in girls. Tall, blonde, blue eyes, tan. You know a girl that can cook some great fries and has those attributes. Im all over it.

Looking at the graph, if she has already aquired a certain level of 'Income' then her expectations in that category will rise so long as she retains her desireable traits. These income expectations will scale back down the graph once her looks start to fade.

So let me get this straight; so these chicks have high standards for everything in their life but TS is pissed that they don't throw it all away when it comes to dating. THe justification for this disappointment being that guys usually have no standards.

I think TS has first world problems.

TS is a special snowflake and cannot get why women don't get how darn special he is and so worthy of dating- it's probably some flaw in women.

There's never problem the other way, guys don't often turn down girls for relationships cause of their profession unless she's doing something truly objectionable. But if you come in contact with girls with professional jobs, doctors, lawyers, well paying corporate jobs etc, theose girls will usually have high standard for their significant others' careers.

Anyone else experience this? a girl could be making 100k and she will want to date a guy making 150k even though that's really not necessary at all for them to work as a couple.

makes it rough living broke in NYC.

It's called hypergamy. Women naturally are always looking to date up or marry up, so dating down (which is what most men do) is something they'll rarely do.

It definitely is a load of bullshit and shows how shallow women can be. Imagine if men had the same standards as women (either dating/marrying across or up). There would hardly be any relationships in the world.

Wow, real people think hypergamy is actually a thing? And, especially neat, the basic premise of hypergamy (men look for fertile, women look for providers) makes women the shallow ones while men are just, what, following their biological urges? Logic more, dude.

NYC girls tend to overrate themselves: they want the guy who is tall, handsome, charming, big dick, and fat wallet. Also, women generally want proof that you aren't a loser. Yeah I know...love conquers all, salary shouldn't matter and all of that...but being a successful professional usually demonstrates that you have your shit together. A successful woman is going to want a successful man.

On that note, I live in NYC and I feel your pain. No woman in this city will be interested in me until I'm already a doctor. And TBH, that kinda pisses me off because I know that when I finally land a girl, it'll be because I have a good career and not much to do with my personality.

Isnt that a better way to land a girl? You career can be measured in numbers and it is finite, concrete, tangible proof. Personality is subjective, eye of the beholder, and not solid

In NYC, the girls need to impress their parents as well, and their peers. Because their parents and peers is the reason they are what and where they are. They bring around someone outside the circle may hurt their staying power.

Hypergamy (colloquially referred to as "marrying up") is the act or practice of seeking a spouse of higher looks, socioeconomic, caste or status than oneself.

There you go, princess.

Wow, now that I read it the second time it's like a light appeared. It's not that you can't examine your own faults honestly with an eye to changing them, it's that all the women you date are somehow wrong. Oh, dude- happily married to a woman for three years now. You could listen to my advice or the whiny single beta dudes stewing in their own cheeto dust seasoned bitterness. It's up to you.
