Opinion Why do you like Trump?

I don't like Trump. He has his fair share of personality flaws and policy downfalls, but I also don't have TDS like far left SJWs.

I think the main groups that like Trump

1) Evangelicals who like his judicial appointments and hate abortion and think he is supporting Israel.
2) People who like his tax cuts and deregulation
3) People who get pleasure watching leftists reaction to him
4) He isn't Hillary
5) People who have demographic anxiety and others who think whites are being persecuted
6) Republicans who have some weird idea that they cannot leave the party so feel obligated to support him.

76% white
77% are 30 or older.

They're old white people. I know that thing with polls in 2016 made science (statistics) untenable for Trumpsters and those who are typically from the school for kids who don't read good, but thems the facts.
Thank you for the info. I could have done without the aggro (can people just not ask genuine questions without being suspected of some ulterior motives?) But I appreciate it nonetheless. People are always talking about evangelicals on here and I know I'm not the only person who doesnt know who they are.

I was very entertained by his campaign and hoped he would be an anti-establishment and isolationist breath of fresh air. That hasn't really been the case so far. I don't count ignorance as anti-establishment, though.

Maybe try getting whiter and older...

I will admit that I had higher hopes of him being a true anti-establishment candidate prior to him being elected but so far, he has a lot in common with his predecessors when it comes to appeasing the major corporations.

My pros and cons in no particular order:

Pros
* Calls out media for their lies and bias (yes, he is also a liar but even a broken clock is right twice a day)
* He hasn't went to war with Assad or Iran yet, something I think Killary would have done. At least with Syria.
* At least pretending to do something about illegal mass-immigration and bringing the issue into the broad daylight. Legally and controlled immigration is perfectly fine.
* Media pushed the narrative that he would "destroy" the economy if elected and so far, that isn't the case.

Undecided
* If he will succumb to the demands from "gun-grabbers".

Cons
* Devaluing the presidency by cheap shots, his vindictiveness and ego
* His deals with Saudi Arabia, probably because he thinks it will help Israel.
* His drone surge.
* How he is handling the EPA and pesticides.
* All the appointments of swamp creatures.

Much more can be said but those are some of the issues.

'Like' is n/a. I don't like him at all. 'Entertained by' is more applicable.

The best and most 'likeable' thing that can be said for him, so far, and imho, he hasn't started any wars.

Even tho' he's a billionaire when he gives speeches you can't help warm to the guy and feel like he's one of 'us' even tho' he is super-rich.

I think we can all sleep soundly in the knowledge that there'll be no nuclear war while he is in charge. Obama was weak, and China/Russia/Nth Korea/Iran had no respect for America. Yes they all knew America had a superior military but the fear for America had gone.
It's fine to be a deterrent but if you never use your strength when someone is testing you they will lose the fear and respect.[which is what a isis fighter in an interview said a while back in this article i read.]
Those countries know that Trump will stand up to them and that he will attack with America's military if they push too much. They are scared of him because he is unpredictable. He isn't a lifelong politician and they can't read him.

I like him because he really seems to love America and i think being patriotic is something we all should be. At the moment in the
West we pay people to teach our children to hate our countries, hate and be ashamed of our history and it's important figures, hate Caucasians, hate democracy and capitalism, and finally to hate themselves.

He is far, far, different than i thought he'd be as a person. He seems very hardworking too and seems to genuinely care for people.
I hope he wins in 2020 but it will be difficult going up against the Democrats, Hollywood, almost all the media, not only in America but the world, Google, Facebook, Twitter, China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and possibly even one or two of America's so called allies.
If he wins against everything that lot are going to throw at him it will be a miracle!

Oh yeah, i like him coz he's really funny and pokes fun of himself and others.

Evangelical conservatives are almost all white. Are we gonna pretend that's not true?

Even if it were true that it's majority white. White is not it's defining ideology. Nor is black the defining characteristic of democrats. That's playing into idiotic identity politics.

One should not have their political identity strapped to their skin color.

I should think that would be a very liberal/progressive ideology towards politics, no?

It is.

eh....

Its more that there's no democrat that I would support who expresses support for what that party has become. Give me a better option.

I've heard people say to me that voting conservative is voting "against my best interests" but have really never had anyone articulate what they mean. What do you suppose my best interests are as a lower middle class working stiff? Transexuals? Ignoring illegal immigration is going to help me? Destroying out economy to experiment with socialism? Stripping me of my constitutional rights? Making sure white people know how wrong they are for being white?

Yeah, no thanks. I'll take sanity, even if it is a little rough around the edges as opposed to a shit stew of mental illness and gov't dependency.

  • Says what he means instead of what the establishment and media want to hear
  • Loves America unlike Obama and Hillary
  • Instead of getting us into more wars like people claimed he would, he has shown incredible restraint
  • Very Reaganesque summits with Kim although significant denuclearization if any has not been evident
  • His support for Israel
  • His stance on America first, illegal immigrants last
  • Triggers SJWs
  • Triggers Hollywood (same thing essentially)
  • Reveals the projected racism of the left
  • Has made me enjoy politics

  • Says what he means instead of what the establishment and media want to hear
Not true. He is the BIGGEST liar.................................... How can you say otherwise?? He says one thing to one person, then say the complete opposite to another......
  • Loves America unlike Obama and Hillary
Uhh...he sides with the 1%ers bro, NOT the common man and woman.
  • Instead of getting us into more wars like people claimed he would, he has shown incredible restraint
LOL. Seriously? His fetid mouth has been a HUGE problem worldwide. We are LUCKY that his shit talking hasn't created a war!
  • Very Reaganesque summits with Kim although significant denuclearization if any has not been evident
??. His "summits" have been pointless and exceedingly laughable... Oh, apart from being "in love" with Kim and trying to appease Putin
a billion times over.

  • His support for Israel
He sure is talking down to jews everywhere in terms of how they should vote. Barf.
  • His stance on America first, illegal immigrants last
No. No...just no. Where is the wall he promised?? LOL. Oh, and Mexico is going to pay, right?? LOL. If you want to fix the illegal immigration problem, the MAIN THING to do is PUNISH the countless companies that hire them. THE END. But hey, that is NOT gonna happen because said companies LOVE hiring workers that they can over-work for not pay enough.
  • Triggers SJWs
He causes outrage for ANYONE who cares about human rights...animal rights............etc, etc. Are you fine with him trying to get rid of the Endangered Species Act??
  • Triggers Hollywood (same thing essentially)
So many people are mad because Trump coddles racists...etc, etc...etc. Hate groups are SO emboldened because of him...it's beyond disgusting.
  • Reveals the projected racism of the left
???
  • Has made me enjoy politics
O_O

Wow.

Ok are you now suggesting conservative values = white supremacy?
C'mon. You quibbled the "whiteness" of Evangelical demographics noting that it wasn't absolutely and completely homogeneous as white...

In return, I posted something pointless to play along with you.

If you want to get back on topic, fine. My point was, conservative values are dying because of demographic change. That's why there is such a last gasp ramp up of anti-immigrant rhetoric and support on the right, which is vastly white and old...even to the point where this demographic, which includes Evangelicals, is willing to fully back a person even they agree is a terrible human being (Trump).

The outcome of demographic change is inevitable, it's up the right to determine how ugly the transition is.

I like him because he's funny, has a lot of eccentric character, and generally does what he does in a way that I find amusing. The problem is, I want him to be the leader of a country about as much as I want Bill Burr to be.

The truth is, lots of people liked Trump prior to him going for president. It's him being president that's the problem.

He’s charming and a great campaigner. He’s very funny and was great on the Apprentice before it fell into self mockery with the d-lists celebrity casts. Terrible President, but I can understand the appeal.

He was mostly considered a joke celebrity before he ran for president. Someone a lazy hack comedian could just mention ("So ... Donald Trump") and get a few laughs.
