Why do the heavier weight classes never seem to have any prospects?

Browne was 30 years old when he started fighting top guys.

Was he supposed to remain a prospect until he was 40?

It's not about "Top Guys."

It's about putting him up against old guys with big names. The rankings are very forgiving to guys who've been around a long time. They're very unforgiving to guys who haven't made a name.

Conventional wisdom has always been that you put a prospect up against a big name fighter in a contender's match, and not before.
