I genuinely don't understand why this guy has so much vitriol directed at him on here

"He has a neck tattoo" might be funny but it's not an actual valid reason. As far as I know all he did was push McGregor once on TUF, and has been tamely trash talking Cruz (who gives as good as he gets) in the lead-up to a fight so who really gives a fuck?

I don't think I'm missing anything major either, yet in every thread people criminally underrate his skill-set or just insult him in general

I don't care about his neck tattoo at all.

Even if he didnt have the neck tat, he'd still come off as a douche. I think his confidence is beyond "believing in myself" and at the cocky-douche level.

Usually, people like to see cocky-douches fail.

Somehow " I respect Cruz and who he has fought, but I have belief in myself and my training" is a douchey statement.
 
He has some douche bag moments, and he definitely doesn't help himself with his appearance.

All in all I think he alright though, if I was that age and fighting in the ufc I'd probably be 15x the asshole of any fighter on the roster.
 
His attitude in general id say... and the way he carries himself.

Extra sense of entitlement and importance.

His fighting style is exciting, and I like him as a fighter. I don't care for his personality but it's not as off-putting as others. I also don't like the TAM camp in general, but it's not a huge deal to me.

Honestly I'm just a fan of Cruz and supporting my fighter. Nothing personal against Garbrandt.

I really don't know. Seems like a serious dude with confidence in himself. Speaks well, too. And is exciting and skilled. Should be the whole package.

If I had to point at one thing it's lack of respect for the champ, and folks here are generally big on pre-fight respect.

If you don't see him as being arrogant, you're not actually watching him.

Talking trash is fine. It's part of the game (especially now). He's just got a personality that's off-putting to other people. If you like him, cool. Others don't. To each their own.
 
Cause weirdo MMA fans care more about looks and personalities than fighting ability.
 
Did anyone watch his showdown with cruz sat? All you need to know. And he has a pistol tat on his back.
