Everybody thinks The Dude is the coolest guy ever. But lets look at the facts:

Not married, no girlfriend, seemingly never gets laid.

Lives alone in a shitty small house or apartment.

No job. Idiot friends. All he does is bowl.

In real life, nobody likes this guy ^

But yet everybody loves The Dude. Why? Because movies aren't reality.

Its just a character in a film, youre taking this way more seriously than anyone that likes the character.

People just enjoy the fiction - quotable lines, and Jeff Bridges is so damn likable - noone wants to actually be him, dummy.

In real life the vast majority of people would consider him a loser and not want to be around him. In cinema he's one of the most celebrated and beloved characters of all time. Movies are not reality!
