It would be of the title shot belt which would make it way more likely for Conor to fight him. Especially with tony sitting out for more money why not fight Aldo? With both of them not fighting it give the UFC in excuse to do Nate Again

Because they're dumb. It gives him the interim title shot and a big payday

People in the eyes of the general public Aldo is a never was that got ko'd in 13 seconds and if Khabib doesn't finish him in 12 or less he has nothing for Conor.

Beating guy who isn't even willing to fight top contenders in a smaller division is not a complimentary win compared to elites at 155 that he wants to fight. Khabib is a real warrior who wants the best. He isn't going to ruin a fight in his career to fight some other guy from a smaller division who isn't a warrior that has a reputation for ducking opponents from his lower weight class that recently got drilled in 13 seconds in the most embarrassing title loss in MMA history.

Its a no brainer as to why the fight does nothing for him. It isn't even a real match up any way. UFC is trolling Aldo and trolling all the idiots who actually believe that they'd put Aldo's weak ass in a potential 155 interim fight. They'd be better off giving Frankie Edgar a shot if they were going to do that. He is a much better draw, and will fight anyone unlike Aldo.

Aldo fought top contenders for years. Before people even knew Khabib existed

What he did 6 years ago doesn't matter. In the last two years he hasn't done jack. Holloway has 10 straight wins and a much better resume in the short term which is what matters.

    Aldo keeps running from people

I love this fight. I want it more than Khabib/ Ferguson. Khabib would gain the interim title if he wins which would make his chances of fighting for the title increase alot

Buuuuut, I could see the Ufc booking this fight then booking Ferguson/Conor shortly after. I don't blame Khabib but I do haha

Aldo has a FW bodyframe, we do not how good he is at LW. If Khabib destroys him, no big deal. If Khabib win by decision, people would complain

Because he has to fight Tony anyway to prove he is the top guy. Beating Aldo puts him in the same position he is. He has nothing to win and all to lose. Hardcore fans will recon Aldo is active in getting up and a complete striker, interesting match up but doesnt make much sense for him.

Exactly this, anyone who thinks this fight does nothing for Khabib is honestly stupid.

If he wins he's the Interim champ which means he gets the next title shot by default on top of the perks of being the interim champ of PPV points etc. He wants to fight McGregor so bad and this would make it so McGregor has no choice if he wins unless he vacates the title or gets stripped due to inactivity.

Khabib is straight up ducking Aldo. Aldo doesn't deserve the fight at LW with that saying, but he'd destroy Khabib.

Khabib fans are ducking Aldo just as much as Khabib and Khabib's dad themselves.

Wait, Aldo would be willing to fight him? Did he see what he did to Michael Johnson? Khabib would murder Aldo. Like guilty as charged murder Aldo.

Khabib just beat Michael Johnson, a guy that beat Tony.
But Tony beat RDA, and as such people are contesting Khabib's place at #1 contender.

If Khabib is to fight Aldo, and say Tony fights Eddie or Barboza, people would claim Eddie or Barboza are higher ranked than Aldo (unranked at LW) and as such, they would claim Tony is ahead of Khabib for a title shot.

Khabib wants to avoid all that. And I agree with Khabib.
Fight Tony and leave no doubt who is the #1 contender that should fight Conor next.

Fight anyone else, and people will keep claiming Khabib didn't fight the best.

What in the fuck is this? Never heard of Aldo before yesterday huh?

Explain to us all your genius logic that Aldo never fights any top fighter after taking the Holloway, Edgar, Mendes, McGregor, and now trying for Khabib, fights back to back to back to back? That's not even going into his long championship reign facing top contender after top contender for years.

Can't wait for this one. Slack jawed yokel Sherbros...

...and by running you mean running after Holloway, who was the one that pulled out of their fight? Ok. We've got a smart one right here.

In the last two years he's beaten number Edgar, Mendes and lost to McGregor. It doesn't get better than that. That list of opponents is as good as it gets.

Now add Holloway, who pulled out of their fight, and Khabib who refused to take it. That is number one guy after number one guy in two divisions.

What's up anyway? Sound like he fucked your wife or you just got general anger issues?

I'm skeptical that the UFC's offer of an interim LW title fight to Aldo was even legit. Why would they offer Aldo an interim LW title fight when they already know damn well that Aldo is a fight that Conor doesn't want and won't take? I think that this was just the UFC trying to leverage Ferg.

Because there's two clear contenders. Just make Ferguson/Khabib.
