Why do people think Dolidze won?

Didn’t Dolidze steal some flyweights piece as well
Ye lol

Thought it was a pretty clear victory for Marvin. 29-28. Vettori chopped his legs and outstruck him. He was the better fighter and he fought smart. Dolidze just stood there and spammed overhands.

Did they only watch the first round?

Maybe because he threw hard? I didn't know people thought Dolidze won. He really wasn't landing in a lot of his flurries.

Roman didn’t win. He didn’t land his punches majority of the time. Marvin just had the face of drinking sour milk even when the right hand missed him.

Roman’s output also slowed down considerably as the fight progressed. He has a great poker face though. He got cracked a few times and he barely reacted to it.

Vettori has very underrated striking defense. He rolls with the punches very well and gets rarely hit with full power. I don't know why, but when you watch the fight real time and it seems like Vettori is getting tagged hard, then when you watch the slow-mo you see a lot of punches glancing or barely hitting him. He was also landing some good stuff on Dolidze.

As mentioned above, if Dolidze won I wouldn't call it a robbery, but I thought Vettori edged the second round and clearly got the third. That 30:27 was a stretch, I thought Dolidze won when I heard it, because I could see 30:27 Dolidze, but not Vettori.

I think round 1 was very close. Scored it for Dolidze but Marvin was winning the first round until the last minute iirc correctly. Dolidze just went crazy.

I mean both looked average. Clear gap in the MW division.
Indeed. Makes you appreciate Whittaker more.

I agree that Roman's leg looked like it was about to fall off, but he somehow managed to use it nevertheless and didn't even bother checking the kicks.
Not every strike leaves a visible mark. That can make it hard to effectively evaluate the impact of strikes. So eventhough octagon control isn't technically a scoring criteria as long as rounds aren't scored draws on striking/ grappling impact, the impact itself will often be estimated by the reaction of fighters to strikes.
So backpedaling for 15 minutes is never a great idea. Which is kinda what Marvin did.
