Why do people still care about the Diaz bros fighting?

I mean, even if they came back and fought, win or lose, they will just go back into hiatus and not fight again for years. They are the most inactive, inconsistent fighters ever. At least in the last 5 years or so. I just don't get why so many people want these guys fighting, and better yet, why a guy like Andy would wanna fight Nick. Have you seen his IG posts? The guy is off his rocker. I used to like the Diaz bros, but come on. If they wanted to fight, they would fight. If we stop caring maybe they would actually come back, realizing that if you don't fight you get forgotten. Active fighters that is.

The only guys that can get away with this are legends like GSP, Andy, Fedor, Jones, Conor, etc. They only fight in big fights that mean something.

    Thoughts?

    All-time great fighters.

They will do as they please and people will still make threads about them.

Nate Diaz was fighting in November before his opponent pulled out. Not his fault

I thinks it's more to do with the change in the sport towards "money fights" and "big fights". They have enough money to retire on now so they probably don't have the desire to compete anymore. They don't have anything to prove but if either of them fights again fans will be tuning in for sure

The sport doesn't have room for everyone being active to the max. The veterans that put in a ton of activity have earned the right to come and go as they please.

Melendez said recently that Nate is still working hard in the gym. He also said that Nick is retired and he's advanced alcoholic we can see it on his instagram.

They're exciting fighters that have interesting personalities.

And they're controversial which makes dumb fucks like you keep their name out there.

I guess it's just frustrating. It's like, just fight or retire already.

Fans have a personal connection. I'll always remember the time in my life when Nick fought Paul Daley.

They could both have been great but weed, inactivity and lack of any evolution or improvement and them over valuing their worth get you to here where we are now and they're irrelevant.
Diaz fanbois are the absolute worse set of fans in MMA though so there is that.

Aloofness can get annoying as can inactivity. It isn't always clear if it's laziness, boredom, or posturing for big fights. Nate worked this Diaz indifference schtick to get a big fight in Conor.

As much as Nate hates low-budget fighters, as he calls them, there aren't a lot of big-name fighters left for him so he might want to try something different.

Nick delayed until he got Anderson Silva, but that was mostly a complete waste of everybody's time. The only thing that came out of it was a gif.

The Diaz Bros are the anti-Cerrones. Instead of fighting all the time or as often as they can they seem to enjoy fighting as little as possible. Two different kinds of "cool."

Tbh I remember when Nick made Robbie faceplant and I thought the guy was gonna be a house hold name. But when Nate started fighting I honestly prefered him! Figured he would be a more successful version of his big bro.
Shame they arent more active in the mma world
