Why do people only focus on title defences to knock Khabib out of GOAT discussion?

Even if you took away title defenses, he doesn't have the quality of wins to be anywhere near a legit GOAT conversation.

Furthermore, consecutively defending a title is the hardest thing to do in MMA, knocking down hungry contender after hungry contender as they accumulate more and more footage of your techniques.

Khabib is potentially a top 10 talent in MMA history, but anyone who knows anything about MMA doesn't have him in MMA GOAT territory.

The Spider and Jones are automatically removed because of peds.

Then it's really only GSP and Fedor who both have multiple losses and never fought through the USADA era.

You're only looking at one criteria just to remove Khabib from the conversation.

Because he hasn’t really beat anybody that’s why. Look at that resume and tell me what is so impressive about the people he has defeated? Conor McGregor might be his most impressive victory. In fact he is. Nobody around here gives him any respect whatsoever. They constantly say he is overrated and basically sucks.

Being undefeated matters too. So does being a clean athlete.

Which fighters in Bellator are 28-0?

Khabib has also defeated world class fighters.
Julio Cesar Neves. He’s not in Bellator anymore, but he was like 30-0 before losing to Jordan Parsons. Got nowhere near the Bellator title

That is all true, but only we are not taking into account how much deeper the talent pool is at LW than in some other divisions. If there is 5x more fighters at LW than at HW globally (just for an example), then it would mean a top50 win at LW equals top10 win at HW, etc. If we do take that into account, Kebab is probably easily the GOAT.

The talent pool is deep at light weight? Maybe historically but not lately. He won the championship against Al. Not exactly a great fighter. He’s a gatekeeper. Context.. GSP beat Matt Hughes the greatest welterweight of all time in that particular era..

GSP beat Bisping in that one fight. Looked sloppy. He was hurt bad an bloodied in the fight, and admitted to taking advantage of Bispings blind eye to knock him out.
OK whatever. This is where people like you look like idiots. That you basically sat on the barstool and yelled at the television screen.

Talent pool = the amount of fighters in a division globally.

That's the only objective and non speculative criteria you can use to compare competitiveness between divisions. I personally don't know the exact numbers, I wonder if anyone does, but I know there are multiple times more LW's than HW's, for example.
