Why do people hate on DJ for his size?

inferiority complex, don't let them fool you into thinking anything else.

many grown men are that size. Not where I live now in the south east United states. I am 6 foot maybe a bit over 6 foot and most people are around my height, but when i lived out west in California there were a lot of people around 5'3 to 5'6
 
The fact that hes a less than average sized adult male fighting in a shallow division doesn't do much for him. People generally aren't that interested in watching the little guys fight
 
There is nothing to hate on DJ for. He is one of the most complete fighters in the game.

The small classes are actually the most talented and skilled. Their body types allow them to chain together techniques at a crazy pace for 5 rounds.
That means they have to be able to put combinations together with take downs and sub attempts in scrambles as they don't have the one punch power of the heavy weights. Their cardio is far better because they don't have to carry alot of mass around. They are lightning fast, being smaller doesn't mean you think quicker or see things faster, it just means that you move faster.

Yes the little guys are the best at the sport on a technical level. Most people watching at the bar are just bleed fans that have no clue what they are really watching. My favorite is listening to fight analysis from some drunk dude at the pub who has never laced up gloves in his life and his friends are hanging on his every word.

You have to like the game to watch guys fight for five rounds who rarely hurt each other. Not great for mainstream ticket sale though.

This is your average sherdogger and your average MMA fan who goes to live events ( that or drunk hillbillies ). You can't expect these armchair warriors to not hate on him. It's all their brain can muster. Just pity them and move on.

Lol. I see where you are going but you cant put the size and skill sets in the same perspective to be comparable.
 
Don't confuse hate with indifference. These guys are the size of small females. Just doesn't interest people, skills or no skills. The numbers bear that out.
 
I think people watched his first few fights 3-4 years ago and haven't gone back. Also, the lack of true competition after beating Joe B and Dodson, twice each, makes people not interested in seeing him fight.
 
It's not just that the dude is freakishly small....The guys weird looking and his voice sounds strange coming from his mouth.

The guys got zero charisma.

I hear you TS. DJ should get more respect but doesn't.
 
He needs flare and personality. UFC should let him do some media run so maybe more of him comes out. Not sure if would work but it wouldn't hurt.

Yeah...I really do think short folks have a hard time getting taken seriously.
 
Listen you guys, just do what I do. When a DJ fight comes on just move closer to the TV and he appears normal size.

Perfectly stated. "Indifference" more then hate is what plaques DJ. Unfortunately the dude also has zero charisma.
