Why do people act like there is a major difference between HWs and LHWs?

Most LHWs are in peak shape around 215 - 230, most heavyweights are in peak shape around 240 - 285. This really isn't rocket science people.

Some fighters have the style to do well against bigger opponents, but most do not. They would end up getting overpowered in the grappling or find out that they can't take the bigger man's punches but that the bigger man can take theirs.

Go watch the open weight K1 grand prixs where massive guys like Semmy just beat on the LHW size guys.

The worst is when people suggest a 225 lb weight class. Why, so that 250 lb guys can cut down to it and essentially create that as the new HW limit? While anyone heavier will be relegated to an incredibly thin division that will basically be considered SHW.

Well most top lhw wouldn't be top hw (with few exceptions)

Facing men bigger n stronger than you on nightly bases is different then facing guys same strenght n size as you.

If some of those lhw thought they would have easier time winning at hw, they would be fighting at hw.

No

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

You've 4000 posts in 6 months. You should think more and post less.

Yes.

There ia no prestige to the HW belt. It lost that when the best hw it ever saw got knocked out by an old boxer, when a wwe fighter got the title, and when an old LHW was 2 time champion.

Lhw has more prestige because it has a history of champions who defended (lidell, jones, ortiz) which brough honor to the title

In ufc the hw belt simply doesnt have that.

Yeah that's ridiculous, everyone relevant (using term loosely lol) except Rothwell, Hunt, Struve and Black Beast can make 225. 225-265 would be shittier than women's FW will probably be.
