Especially if they fight at their natural weight and don't have to cut weight? Ngannou could easily fight again next month

I don't know for sure, but it might have to do with the fact that training is hard

You can't just fight bc you want to it has to be offered to you. Also some people are content with 1 or 2 a year.

I dont care how much i love MMA.

If 1 to 2 times a year has me financially set, then training and bi annual fights are the way to go.

Anderson has had it made the last few years minus the injury and loss of title.

He fights 2 times a year or so but is totally set with money and yeah he loses but he could comforably retire right now.

Yeah, and they just did his job. You'ld make more money if you picked up another job or more hours too... Why don't you?

They have to go through an arduous training camp for every fight. That's what they don't want to do more often.

The UFC roster is probably the biggest its ever been, especially with the addition of women and new weight classes, and might be getting even bigger. With only a limited number of slots in a card you have to find a place to fit them all and make sure everybody gets the opportunity to fight and make some money.

Big roster and training full tilt takes a toll on the body.

Some do. Some don't. Training camps can be a long fucking haul. What goes up must come down and momentum goes both backwards and forwards. Contracts also vary wildly.

My buddy Jared Canonier got KO of the night without taking much damage...
But it's not up to the fighter when they fight at the lower levels of UFC... He has to wait for an offer or hope someone pulls out when he is ready

    2 reasons

    1) UFC scheduling and roster. Unless youre a somewhat big name your calls asking for fights constantly likely arent going to get answered.

    2) Personal preference. Everyone has different situations and desires.

Training camps tear your body apart, without PEDs you cannot train full blast all year round. Especially having to train in various martial arts while also doing cardio/strength training. Especially at a calorie deficit while cutting weight.
