Why do fighters accept bouts with highly suspected/proven steroid cheats?

Or at the least why not be vocal and push for more extensive testing?.

I remember Rory talking about his suspicions for the Robbie fight and just thinking about the damage he took in there. It must be a very sombering experience going through the recovery process having taken serious trauma and realising this guy probably just took years off your life being a scummy cheater.

too many lance armstrongs floating around MMA, that's why.

Because they need to fight to make money.

Rory is a bad example too. Lawler's testing suspicions on that fight didn't really come to light until afterwords, and Lawler didn't have a history.

Because if they win, they win.

If they lose..........steroids.

Too many roiders in MMA plus they have to make their money

Well... everybody including Schill Rogaine knows that Jon Jones is a lifetime juicer and cheat but we cant help but want to see him fight. Same with Bork, TrT vitor, Yoel... they are all freak shows but we cant help but want to see it. IMO the UFC should have a different openweight division for steroid users. Once u get caught cheating, u can still fight but u leave the USADA testing pool forever and omly fight other cheaters. Id def watch TrT vitor vs yoel or Bork vs Jones or whatev

Because steroid cheats are directly correlated to big ratings and large pay days.

Maybe it's a bad example. But it's just something that sticks with you, remembering the tone of his voice when he was bringing it up and the kind of damage he took.

Because nobody wants to fight a roider. If you are a guy trying to climb and a top 5 suspected roider offers you a fight, there's a good chance it's just cause he couldn't book another top 5 guy

Because maybe a lot of them are also in the "sauce"?

okay but you gonna get paid the same if u fight romero or u fight weedman, yet the risk level is not the same. fighters should come together to boycott the most visible offenders.

How can fighters come together when the majority of them are violators? And come together against whom? Fighters in their own camps?! So, ostracize most of the people in the sport and destroy pretty much every established fight camp there is? That's your plan? Have you put much thought into how this plays out?o_O

money for 1 and usada does that just fine.

usada busted jon jones and brock lesner with no trouble.

How much more extensive does testing need to be? Random drug tests, blood and urine every time, you have to document your location every morning, afternoon and night, they're constantly adding more and more designer chemicals to the list of banned substances-- if your aversion to steroids is so severe that THAT isn't enough for you, what will it take? The fighters are all put into a big UFC house and subjected to round-the-clock video recordings to ensure there are zero opportunities for them to use their privacy to take something that might be performance enhancing, and even a proven false-positive or a legitimately tainted supplement gets you a two-year suspension just to be safe?

come together as in collectively decline to fight these guys when the ufc offers them , and only for the most extreme cases. Like look
middleweight everyone knows yoel and costa are cheaters. why u gonna fight them ? rockhold and whittaker are both already talking about yoel being dirty, weidman talked about it, mousasi talked about it previously. so why give him opportunity to take ur spot.

WME wont pay up. Midcarders need a natty alternative.
