Why do Conor fans care more about the money he makes then actually watching him fight?

This is a serious question. I am not a Conor hater, I love watching him fight and it sucks that he doesn't do that anymore.

What I have been noticing for a while is that his fans don't seem to want to see him fight. Which I would think is very bizarre for most fight fans. Whenever someone complains about him not fighting, his fans just brag about how much money he makes. If it's all about money and not fighting, then why are you even on this forum? By that logic we all go down to wall street and cheer on our favorite stock brokers. Or start following other sports where there are hundreds of athletes who have made as much and more money then Conor.

So to Conor fans out there. Do you get more joy out of seeing him post a picture of a new car on Instagram, or actually watching him fight?

It’s called vicarious living

It’s pathetic cos if they had a small ounce of sense they would see Conor is kayfabe

I think everyone wants to see him fight

but if you are a fan of his, you cant hate him for making tons of dough and living his life

Many people are not actually fight fans.

They're old kids in search of a role model/hero

Doesn't fight except on social media. He's a Kardashian now, famous for being famous.

The fans want to seem him fight. Rational fans understand his decisions given his unique status as the sport’s biggest draw thus they are willing to accept that he won’t just take any fight anytime like a typical fighter would.

When people cry and complain he doesn’t defend his belt, fans simply point out that the “rules” don’t apply to Conor.

Someone on this board accused me of not being an mma fan because I reiterated the “defend or vacate” sentiment...what sense does that even make? How am I not a fan of the sport if I actually want to see a fighter fight? And bigger question, why was the guy (and so many others) so ok with him not fighting? I think most people understand why he isn't fighting. He has a ton of money and is as famous as he ever will be. He's milking it for all it's worth. But that doesn't mean you need to be fine with it. It's bad for the sport, and bad for the fans. Unless you're just a fan of following people on Instagram and twitter, which I think is the case with a lot of his fans.

I don’t care about it one way or the other. Its something I have no control over and I understand why it is happening. Anyone conplaining about Conor not fighting should find something else to worry about.

If they attach themselves to someone successful, it helps them forget about how much they hate their own pathetic lives.

Because If you cared about watching him fight you'd have nothing to care about.

this, I couldn't care less either way. I watch MMA not one fighter, if Lebron stopped playing basketball today I will still watch the NBA.

INSECURITY.

I Am happy to see conor succeed. If he is your fav fighter it makes sense to show exuberence when he makes millions regardless of if he is fighting. Thats called hustle lyalty respect.

Conor haters just seem to be unable to grasp the fact that the man had millions of dollars to spend, and his first kid to boot.

Regardless of MMA, I think any of us would take some time off to spend time with their new kid and spoil their friends and family. It's just that these hungry kids on sherdog don't seem to be reasonable.

With that said, as a fan of his, it's very clear that he isn't the lightweight our featherweight champ anymore.

Max is the champ at 145 and ferg is the champ at 155.

Using your personal life as an excuse to not fight is not a good enough reason to remain champ.

I'd like to see him fight as well, but I just know that I wouldn't be in a rush to fight if I were in his shoes.

If you took that morons word seriously, than you shouldn't be taken seriously.

At this point, it's a foregone conclusion that Conor no longer holds the title of champ.
