All you guys are wrong. There isn't a new method to test for EPO. They just simply don't test every sample for EPO, and they didn't test his. This has nothing to do with new scientific methods, its simply a lack of competence on part of USADA. Stop spreading false info and inform yourselves before you comment on shit like this.
Well, you're wrong too. It has nothing to do with a "lack of competence." It's about a lack of resources. They don't run that particular test on every sample because it's not feasible to do so.
Generally speaking, when extra resources are required to investigate something, the anti-doping agencies and the commissions will focus on athletes who are suspicious.
Despite all of this bullshit about how "everybody" knew that he was dirty, TJ never failed a test before this year, so there was no reason to give him extra scrutiny.
