Social Why Did Republicans vote against bills addressing the baby formula shortage...

Is this seriously even a thread? Dump this piece of shit. Unless there's something I'm missing (someone tell me please), wtf does the FDA need $28 million for? Might as well give that $28 million to a bum living on the streets. Would be put to better use imo.

It doesn't seem like "regular folks" are big fans of perverts grooming their children, so there's one just recently. Now can you name one democrat bill that solely helps "regular folks" instead of a bunch of cash giveaways to their friends?
? That was a fail.

Trillions? The total income tax receipts for 2021 were $2 trillion. At most Trump cut the individual income tax for the top earners by like 4%. Given that the top 1% pays 39% of the income tax (greater than the bottom 90% by the way) and he slashed their income tax by like 4% off hand, that would be $2 trillion * 0.39 * 0.04 which is about $20 billion, about 0.35%, aka less than a rounding error. It completely pales in comparison to the $6 trillion printed.

If the government can print money with impunity, income tax is simply a punishment for working and having income.

oh snap.

No one care about your fake outrage that 9 people out of 450 voted against a bill. Go sell your fake outrage to some tiktok morons that might believe it.

probably the 9 most honest and intelligent people in the nation, who always have the common citizens best interest at heart. true patriots, and so brave, standing up against the rest of the world who aren't out to starve a bunch of babies to death. they are truly for the people.

Despite how disastrously Trump handled the pandemic, democrats we're even harsher and still are in their lockdowns and restrictions on a state by state basis.
I live in fucking NY and there are literally zero restrictions.

Also they voted against price gouging at the pumps, and domestic terrorism? House Republicans seem to be voting against every bill that would help their constituents now because they know the measures would work, and they don’t want Democrats to get any credit before midterms. And they’re against the domestic terrorism bill bc their base is white supremacists.

I don't have a good answer for why they would vote that way, but I think your suggested theory that they are intentionally being obstructionists to undermine the governing efficacy of the Dems has an obvious flaw to it. These aren't particularly close votes we're talking about. They already know the legislation is passing regardless of how they vote. So whatever they're doing, it has no practical purpose. Seems they are so out of touch with reality that they think these votes will help them politically.

I don't think you know what far left means, our government is anything but far left. Both of our parties are to the right of most other developed western nations.

Doesn’t matter for those who live in the US.

Evaluating our politics by the norms of other nations is an exercise in futility, just as it is for those who do the same while in foreign nations.
