Seems like he had many opportunities.

    Did anyone else notice that?

Maybe he is not confident in his subs?

Trying to make a statement with tko??

I don't have experience to understand why he shouldn't have tried it.

maybe because JDS is a a real strong black belt training with the nogs and has been training for 1 year to get back to his feet by giving his back to his opponents? Hes ready for that shit.

I think he said in the post fight conference that he would rather finish via tko or something like that

He wanted to finish painting a masterpiece on JDS face

Seriously though, he said something about, he'd just rather throw punches

You actually have to have back control to get a RNC...

Cain was content to punch.. can't say I blame him given how successful he was. No reason to change whats working.

He wanted to keep it in his realm. Keep using wrestling and GnP. Why play BJJ with JDS when he didn't have too?

yeah someone asked him about that at the press conference. cain could have finished if he took his back, flattened him out, and pounded on him imo. he was only using his wrestling. it looked like brock vs herring. you dont need bjj just for subs. positionally he could have used it to pound him out but instead he allowed jds to scramble

He said in the post-fight conference that his game plan going in was to make JDS carry his weight in order to tire him out and he thought he was doing a good job at that; that's why didn't go for the RNC. Also, he loves the TKO and he is a great wrestler.

I agree with you.... my sons & I discussed this during the fight....& I think he was really pissed about Junior's attitude....did U notice the big push he gave Junior after round 1....it was like he had absolutely no respect for him...I think he just wanted to punch the shit out of him....especially since most everyone (not I - I said he would win prior to the fight right here on sherdog), thought Junior would give him a boxing lesson....Cain actually proved to be faster than Junior...& physically stronger....

The fact of the matter is in his post fight interview you can see on fueltv's channel on youtube he said that he didn't want to lose his positioning and whither JDS down. Jits would have jeopardized that and possibly put Cain in a bad position.

In previous fights he has had back control and given it up for taking the opponent's side turtle position to punch them. Seems he prefers this. Honestly, I think he should try to go for subs a lot more, his corner should really have pushed him to do this in the later rounds.

Doesn't have a BJJ game. It was obvious anytime he was on the back of JDS.
