Why did Masvidal just talk himself all the way out of a title shot?

If he beat Usman he could have named his price... Conor/Nate 2/Khabib would all be realistic big money options for him in the near future.

Why he do this... what is the logic here ?

He mentioned something about feeling pressured into making a last minute decision he was not comfortable making. He probably would've taken the shot had he had more time. I think it was a mistake not to take it.

I feel he is actually scared to fight Usman and I'm saying this as a fan of Masvidal. If he was really confident at winning he would've taken the fight and Dana will owe him more money next time. Isn't that what most fighters do when making deals?

Masvidal also loses to Colby, Edwards, Burns...Usman was the 3rd best fight win or lose. I don't think he would have lost much popularity either because he isn't supposed to beat Usman. Just take the loss, get paid, and still have big fights available. A loss isn't the end all be all. SMH

Thats how I feel. If the reason he did not take the fight is because he is scared, that is disappointing.

Ive always wanted to see the original footage of this. From what fight or bellator event is this?

Just like jorge was suppose to lose to till, askren and nate. Keep counting him out smh

Because he is a journeyman. There is a reason nobody have seen him as a contender until 2019. He got a nice couple of win against hypejobs in Askren and Diaz. But is a 50-50 WW against the rest and thinks as soon as he losses, he will be a nobody again like he was before 2019.

Ducking the champion. Pfff Pathetic. When have we ever seen that? He got paid waaaaaaaay too much in his fight with Diaz to transform from a "street fighter who would fight anybody anywhere" to a "cherry picker afraid to lose"

And you guys want them to get paid even "more millions" smh

<mma3>

yeah, have to agree with the general consensus here. he knows he has no chance against usman. might as well hang around near the top a little longer, rather than get starched by the champ and fall off the radar.
