Why did injuries become so common in the last few years?

I don't remember it ever being this way before. I'm sure there is a logical explanation but I can't seem to understand why it seems to occur in 2/3 events now. This has gotten past ridiculous with Weidman being injured, RDA two events ago, Cormier, etc.

No roids to help with recovery. Not accusing anyone, of course. ;)

Roids offer amazing recovery, really unmatched by anything other than a fountain of youth.

Why don't they heal people with roids in hospitals? Sincere question
They do?
"Anabolic steroids are used for several reasons: To help patients gain weight after a severe illness, injury, or continuing infection. They also are used when patients fail to gain or maintain normal weight because of unexplained medical reasons. To treat certain types of anemia."

More money and fame at stake.

More and better ped testing.

The sport is getting bigger. More people = more Injuries

- ruining the sport actively since 2015.

Health insurance. If you skipped a fight before, you have to pay your own medical bills and not get paid on fight night. Now a days, you still won't get paid on fight night, but you at least won't get stuck with medical bills on top of it.

Less options for recovery.
More awareness of how to play the rankings-game.

They've been worse, but the amount of events hides it.

Part of the game.

And AKA

It's because UFC gave fighters health care. Before they would fight injured and then use the money from their fights to pay for surgeries and what not. Now that they have insurance if they get hurt they disclose it immediately. Get whatever needs to be fixed taken care of and then fight. As long as they're not inactive for too long they get to keep belts/rankings.

all bout dat medical coverage baby. Lets get our knees scoped!

Is this why most people start TRT in their late 30s? To delay the aging process?

Health insurance that extends beyond fight night, and with fighters making more money in the past few years allows them to miss a check and still cover their bills.

Fighters got health insurance, drug testing got stricter, talent level and depth went up so fighters start pushing themselves even harder, and trying new training techniques to get a step ahead.
