vs someone who has been able to hurt HW's, and has a great chin.

Sure vitor gasses in a lot of fight but its usually after he lands a few hard punches.

if ever there was a fight when he should have been on his bicycle, it was this one. from the beginning of the fight, he was being too reckless. you've got to respect belfort's standup.

i'm not a fan of bisping's point jabbing, but that was the only way he was going to win that fight.

I thought he should have gone full grappling mode. Bisping's grappling is underrated because of his pace and cardio. Should have went for singles and doubles after flurries of jabs. All merit goes to Belfort though.

He's pretty elusive, so stay away a round or two, then go for the takedowns when vitor is gas'd.

    Probably the gameplan.

Gamplan's + shin to face = gameplan interupted.

Yea I really that he would just keep moving, use his jab and wait till later rounds to win. The shot that caused his nose to bleed affected him tho.at least he was gracious in defeat

i kept thinking the same thing, i thought he was going to employ alot of clinch work / cage work and wear the guy down... maybe he learns not to stand with celebrated strikers now

It was a bad match up for him. Vitor had the edge in striking and while Bisping has decent takedowns, he probably would have had a hard time putting him on his back.

doesn't matter how hard it would be, it would have tired vitor out.

cain had a crazy hard time getting JDS down

Because he was on sherdog and the majority of sherdogers say Michael had better technical boxing. That's why. Also, majority sherdog said Michael had better kicks. I wonder who they think has better kicks now? ; )

    Because Bisping underestimated Belfort's standup?

Belfort lit him up in the clinch. Michael had half a jab for Vitor

Vitor is no slouch in the grappling department, I don't really see Bisping having much success spamming takedowns and if he clinched up with him there would have been a good chance that Vitor would end up on top. I'm not so sure that it would have tired him out that bad either.

I think he felt he was the better striker in his head

Aside from the two headkicks (which Vitor camouflages VERY well), I think he looked just fine standing with him.

vitor was waiting for the kick. he wasn't worried about bispings power, and was just waiting

it was only a matter of time

Well honestly...the first round was close (basically pick-em) until that kick. The fight-metric will be interesting. If you intend on telling me how much better Vitor's stand-up is, then feel free. The only clear edge is obviously power and hand-speed for Vitor.

Before eating the kick at the end of round 1, it was an even stand-up fight.
