Why Can't the Diaz Bros Win Championships?

The current UFC WW champ and the ex champ are both ex-Strikeforce fighters.

I guess they couldn't have been that bad.
Several UFC champs have been King of the Cage champs too. That must be a world championship.

-lack of kick offense and defense
-lack of explosive power such as to stop takedowns
-they tend to be built for a cruising speed than varying speeds that would include high speed

-for Nick, bad decisions (weed, skipping meetings) and voluntarily sitting on the sidelines doesn't help. Now, GSP may come back and it would be terrible timing to he himself make a return.

Fighters with well-rounded skills can work around their skillsets by either point fighting from range or playing a loose top game to avoid getting subbed. Diaz bros go with the flow, they rarely change their approach and have a gameplan, while the top contenders they face usually come up with one. It's mindset, they have the skills.

No wrestling; no real variety in their striking; bad footwork.

I'd say the main problem is the Diaz style is exactly the same as it was 5 years ago; nothing added, altered or improved upon. For any fighter who approaches the game tactically they're probably the easiest fighters to figure out of anyone on the roster.

#2. Not natural athletes. They are low twitch mainly. Which doesnt allow them to block take downs, leg kicks, etc

#3 stupid rules like time limits and points instead of fight to one gives up. UFC 1 rules they'd both be UFC champs

Comparing KOTC to Strikeforce?

Yikes
Aside from the HW division they're not that different. If the UFC bought out KOTC, several of its fighters would be top 5 material and there would be a few future UFC champs. Like a few years ago, they'd have gotten Conor. And Conor's way more historical than anything that came out of SF.

Well... Nick was Strikeforce champ, and at the time Strikeforce was full of sharks

Nick's three championship fights in Strikeforce were against guys who had losing records in Strikeforce. One (Zaromskis) never won a fight in Strikeforce, the other two (Santos, Daley) only ever won once in Strikeforce. The one Santos win was over Zaromskis, so he beat someone who couldn't beat anyone.

Santos and Zaromskis were never good enough to fight in the UFC. None of these guys were winners in Bellator either.

So much for "Sharks". Nick won a title in a B League, by beating C Level guys.

He might as well hold up his Little League participation trophy as proof of his championship caliber.

They lack wrestling. If they could score takedowns somewhat at will they could impose their BJJ from the top position on some guys. If they could defend takedowns against higher level wrestlers consistently, they could force those guys to stand with them and would probably have an advantage most often.
It wouldn't hurt if they were a bit stronger, either. It actually might help in.the wrestling/grappling area.

If they got stronger they'd lose endurance and flexibility. They should pull guard more and just go for sweeps rather than take downs.

Name a few of these potential KOTC future UFC champs.

Jeebus...

Ya gotta learn your mma history bro. As many have mentioned Nick's Strikeforce title. And though Nate is not a UFC champion. He did win TUF.

Oh yeah...

Then there's the matter of the McW Division. And Nate is the undisputed current title holder.

Just watched his and Noons 25 minutes of punching each other. Fight had some good boxing on both sides.

Sadly, yes. Nick was getting a boxing lesson from a guy who looked like a little kid in there with him. Noons is so much smaller it is almost funny. Yet somehow this "little kid" keeps cracking Nick.

Didn't KJ have pro boxing experience though? Has Nick ever boxed professionally?

KJ did, but let's not kid ourselves. That was a cut, and Nick was going to win, as he did in the second fight.

Roided up wrestlers who lay and pray. Carlos Condit, with his running man style of baby leg kicks. Fuck the judges, Carlos lost that fight. Carlos did just enough to stay in the game, but even a head kick couldn't phase Nick.

Bottom line, anyone who tries to *fight* the Diaz Brothers usually ends up losing. 209, motherfucker!

because they always lost the big title fights in UFC. always got leg kicked to death and then taken down and controlled. Normally when you have seen a Diaz loss then you have seen them all.. you know what happens
