Why can't Schevhenko ever hurt anyone with her hands?

Why can't Jon Jones ever hurt anyone with his hands?

Most women can't. It's very difficult for women, especially women her size, to develop enough power combined with the right timing to actually KO someone with their hands. Hell, most guys 125 don't rock dudes either.
The men at 125 are more evenly matched and there aren't any standout strikers. Shevchenko in comparison is much physically stronger than the other females in the division and has much more muay thai experience, you'd think she could light some girls up. Rose as a comparison has way less striking experience and is weaker physically but she can hurt other women with her hands. I think it has to do with schevchenko training and her approach

Looks fast, powerful, and great technique. What's she missing, is it accuracy, range, timing what?

She doesn't always commit to her striking power wise, she would rather keep control and distance and land whenever she wants...

Im sure if she committed to her strikes power wise she'd drop some girls

Because he didn't train to throw a punch until he was a grown man but also he isn't particularly powerful or fast with his hands. No one is watching jon jones pad work and thinking "oh shit that guys a monster"

That's because Val tended to cheat. Those were non-pro fights and she wasn't allowed to sweep/throw but did it consistently including to Joanna. It took years but eventually a group of officials finally got fed up with her and kicked her out of the weight class. They should have banned her entirely. Joanna has a more detailed account of it in her book which hopefully she will publish in English if she wins the belt. Needless to say if people think Joanna, Maycee or anybody else in WMMA in the UFC is cringe when they lose ... it does not compare to Val. It was worse than when that one time Khabib lost in a competition and seemed to have a meltdown.

Not sure how you can support someone with as sh*tty of a character as Joanna. Valentina is pretty cringe for sure, but nowhere near as bad as Joanna was with the runup to the Rose fight. You'd think she'd learn to be humble after getting KO'd by the person whose mental disorders she made fun of, but nope, she's gonna need another KO from Zang to make the lesson stick.

She is a woman. If she wants to ko someone she better use her legs because her hands aren't going to get the job done.

It generally needs a fighter to be sitting down on their punchs to hurt someone when you get to that size and she doesn't tend to, most of the time she's happy to jab someone all night and then threaten either on the ground or with kicks/knees.

Val was twice as fast and seemed to be an entire weight class heavier strength wise.

She isn't just strong, she is technically superior against everyone in WMMA. She bullied Holm in the clinch as well. Her dominance is a lot more about her being more skilled and more well rounded in martial arts than her opponents, than being stronger.

She's very bouncy on her feet, makes it very hard to sit down on your punches and generate power. She kinda reminds me of Pacquiao but he was an anomaly in that he could still drop people without setting his feet and from awkward angles

I don't think I've ever seen her plant her feet and swing. She's always on her toes and moving.
This guy gets it.
She's got a defense first philosophy.
She makes sure her footwork gets her in and out of range before her opponent can return fire, regardless of their power/skill or their striking ability. If she sat down on her punches, she could do much more damage, but she'd get hit a lot more too.

It has more to do with weight than gender. 50% of UFC heavyweight fights end by TKO or KO, while at Flyweight it's 22% - in every weight class the percentage of TKOs drops as weight drops.

Interestingly, although I wouldn't draw any big conclusions, the percentage of TKOs at women's Bantamweight is 28% as against the guys 24%.

looks great on pads

doesnt have that confidence when the opponent has the opportunity to punch her back

just a confidence thing

Most women can’t punch, it’s why they have to use teeth/nails/weapons to really hurt people

Who cares she finishes fights at least more than half her fights have ended in a finishes. She has gone the decision as of lately as she has faced arguably 4 GOAT female fighters in her last 8 fights
