http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oaXLy8mD20In this documentary JWP says that he needs to cut weight for the weigh in day and they also mention that fighters are dehydrated for the weigh in,so in k1 they also cut weight like in the MMA.

Here Buakaw says that he does not cut weight, and he always weigh around 69kg(he looks big though) and he fights bigger oppenents http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooLVLJgYun4

So why one of the best ever muay thai fighters does not cut weight?

well K1 Max , is at 70 Kg and he had a contract to fight for them. before that he was lighter.

So why one of the best ever muay thai fighters does not cut weight?

He isnt even top 100.

Buakaw is not that big...well i guess big for a thai, but the poster before me is correct.

they usually get bigger towards the tail end of their career or when they fight foreigners. there's hardly any Thais that are in that weight...the most popular weight class is the lighter weights...with 135lbs usually being the "heavier"

i'm guessing he doesn't cut weight because he fights mostly foreigners now

and to get a look at how big Buakaw is...here's him and Simon Marcus sparring at my gym a couple years ago

2011 Thai Fight Tournament champion (-70 kg)
2011 WMC World Junior Middleweight champion
2010 Shoot Boxing S-Cup World champion
2009 WMC/MAD Muaythai World champion
2006 K-1 World MAX champion
2006 WMC Super-Welterweight World champion
2005 S-1 Super-Welterweight World champion
2005 K-1 World MAX 2005 Finalist

I don't care whom he fought, he is definitely in top 100 all-time. There's hardly no one that has a resume that comes close to this in terms of overall fights in k-1. He is definitely Hall of Fame material.

K-1 and Muay Thai are different.

He's an ATG kickboxer, but he's not even close to being a top 100 MT fighter.

LoL

buakaw is one of the best K1 and Muay Thai Fighters Period!!
OMG where the Hell do you Live?
have you watched to many times hulk hogan wrestling stuff??

Most Lumpini champs from 105-135 > Buakaw

And that's a lot more than 100 fighters.

There are probably at least 40 or 50 active fighters who are greater than Buakaw.

I've already explained it.

K-1 is not Muay Thai.

yes because of the rules, but so what? you re saying beeing a Lumpini champ is worth more than a K1 titel? or not compareable because of the rules?

that. different rules and really different scoring.

Under K1 rules Buakaw may be considered one of the top fighters but in Muay Thai he is, as i said not top 100.

do you even follow thai stadium scene?

YES

a Lumpinee and Rajadamnern title > K-1 title IN Muay Thai

Buakaw is a great fighter, no doubt about that...but there are a LOT of fighters that are a better representation of Muay Thai than him.

K1 was considered to be the top of the mountain,

Not sure if you're ignorant or just trolling, but if you want a list of active Thai fighters that are better than Buakaw in Muay Thai, take a gander at these gentlemen:
http://www.muaythai2000.com/en/champofstadium.php?stadium=1
http://www.muaythai2000.com/en/champofstadium.php?stadium=2
http://www.muaythai2000.com/en/champofstadium.php?stadium=5
And here's a number of Thai fighters from the recent past that exceed Buakaw's skill (the proverbial murderers' row right here):
http://www.muaythai2000.com/en/champchart.php

If you've never heard of them, then you really can't say you know anything about real Muay Thai. Arguing that K-1 is greater than Muay Thai is a nonsense statement; it's like saying that American football is better than soccer/football -- apples to oranges.

If i remember correctly he would weigh-in at 145-147 when he first came on the k-1 scence

he trying to tell you that two different sports, Buakaw never acomplished any major feats in his career besides beating foreigners
