Do you guys really believe Conor is still same fighter that lost to Duffy? I don't think noob Conor could have beat Aldo. Conor is totally different animal today.

whenever people describe Conor as an animal, I didn't realize they were talking about a Duck.

Well the Conor hater/stalkers/homoerotic fantasizers haven't had a negative thing to bring up since the Duffy loss so it makes sense.

Let them have it they had a terrible 2014, a disastrous 2015 and are having a rough start to 2016.

They are all on suicide watch this year.

Fun fact. Conor is avoiding matches with anyone that can plant him on his back at will. Wonder why?

It is the only fight that accurately depicts Conor's skills. Lucky wins don't count for me.

People have to say something, thats one of the things theyll bring up. Stipe could knock out werdum tommorow and theyd say he lost to struve,so he aint SHIT no matter what he does.

it's just you making up shit in your head to discredit him, i bet you think he avoided khabib, lmao do you even know how contracts work? khabib is locked for ufc fox and that's it

Is this a serious question?

Like Chad Mendes?

Why do you think TS? There are people that get meaning in their lives from hating Conor. Duffy is the last man to beat him and so it's their way of childishly pushing back against Conor's success.

People had to eat ALOT of crow when Conor accepted and won the Mendes fight.

While I agree that Conor is a different fighter today, I think it's still relevant to bring up that loss and the circumstances around it, in order to highlight the gulf between Conor and Nate's ground games.

5 years ago Conor was a very reluctant student of the ground game. By his own admission he was a cocky boxer who thought his left hand was all he needed. It wasn't until that second sub loss that he really started dedicating himself to shoring up his ground game. He was still a blue belt when he faced Duffy (he only earned purple in late 2012)

Nate was already a brown belt 8 years ago. He embraced and dedicated himself to BJJ long before McGregor and his ground game is vastly more mature and tricky. If this fight spends any significant time on the ground McGregor will be in trouble.

So you decided to create a thread about Duffy loss, because you don't want it to be brought up?

People still bring up the Stephens/Guida losses about RDA even though he was handily winning both fights.

Conor is hardly the only fighter this has happened to, almost all successful fighters still have past losses used to disparage them.

Although in defense of this particular one, Conor hasn't exactly shown he's improved a whole lot on that weakness .

Not really because anyone in the division could have beaten that bum version of Mendes who had 14 days notice.

Conor has since learned from that and is getting BJJ lessons by Nate this weekend

I dont agree. Also it has to be taken to account that Conor was not training for Mendes, who was a completley different fighter than Aldo.

Hhahahahahahaha, i'm a hater but that was gold. And yes I have been having a terrible 2014-16 in MMA. Machida Anderson, Hunto and especially Aldo all have had tough times these past few years. Don't really have any new fighters that i'm a big fan of just yet. Thomas Almeida and Alan Jouban are the only newer fighters that i'm really starting to like.
