Why arent supplements banned?

You know who doesn't take any supplements at all?

Supplements are total bullshit. No one needs a fucking supplement if youre eating regular nutritious meals. No pro athlete should be deficient in that regard. They are pure snake oil. When people go to get supplements, what theyre really looking for is steroids, knowingly or unknowingly. They think supplements are a magic dose of powder that get them fucking jacked and perform like beasts. How is that different than steroids? But its seen as an alternative to steroids because its legal. However they dont work like that, unless theyre being spiked with actual fucking steroids. Athletes use them to scapegoat if/when they get caught while cycling steroids. Or to get sponsorship money. I cant imagine many at this level actually think you need supplements or that theyre worth any miniscule beneftis they may provide.
I see a lot of idiots who literally know nothing about nutrition or supplementation say things like this. lol.

Thats funny, its the idiots who know literally nothing about exercise, nutrition, supplements or steroids that I usually see going to buy supplements.

I've been studying nutrition for over 8 years. Been a martial artist for about as long.

Sorry, but your knowledge on supplements Is rudimentary at best and I think you should read more before making such ridiculous short sighted generalizations.

You seem to think you understand more than you actually do. Take a step back, close your mouth and learn.

PEDs are banned (in theory) based on their associated risks, not their associated benefits. If something improves your performance and doesn't hurt you, that's a level playing field. Everyone can use it. If it destroys your heart and liver, it forces fighters to choose between dying before 50 and being beaten senseless by guys who don't mind dying before 50.

So legal supplements are in theory not physically harmful to you.

Very bad idea, ts.

If that were the case, I hope you like 80% of cards pulling out to injury.

Yeah..... no.

I knew a dude who failed for some insanely random “steroid” from some stuff he bought online that claimed to be FDA certified. It happens. But Jones is full of shit and deserves at least 4 years if that’s what you’re getting at.

WAIT.

So something that hurts you is illegal..

Something that helps you is legal.

So PEDS are performance enhancers...illegal because you die.

But if you live, you can do them.

Wut

Yesterdays legal supplement is todays illegal PED. Most of the failures today are due to tainted supplements. So....why not ban all supplements?

Why is a tainted supplement any different than a plain supplement?

Hgh increases your performance and is therefore a PED. Supplements increase your performance....but they are not PEDs...makes no sense to me.

Your facts are wrong and so is your analysis.

(1) Most failures are not due to tainted supplements. Do you have a cite or source? It is claimed as a defense, but there have only been a few instances where USADA agreed the fighter was not at fault, and only one instance when a fighter sued the supplement company.

(2) There is no reason to ban all supplements. Nobody is forcing the fighters to take them.

(3) If you can't tell the difference between HGH and whey then I don't know what to tell you, you are an idiot.

Where is your source to deny my source

And if you know the difference between supplement and PED...please explain it.

Complete nonsense and you know it.

As a general principle, since you made the initial assertion that most of the failures are due to supplements, you have the burden of proving your claim.

However, since you can't, I will provide a citation, source and evidence that you are factually incorrect.

Here you go bub:

90% of supplements are a scam. And the ones that really work are banned.

Mk677 is banned and it has no detrimental side effects. Its worst side effect is slight reduction in insulin sensitivity, and the healing potential it has for your joints and bone tissue far outweigh the risks.

If they really cared a lot about the athlete's health, they would just ban combat sports considering getting hit in the head over and over is a lot worse than any side effect a ped can give you
Ibutamoren is still in preclinical studies, we don't have enough data yet to know whether its benefits outweigh its risks. It's banned in part because is an unapproved drug (s0 on the prohibited list).

Because they don't work.

Who was it on Joe Rogan (I think it was) that said "PEDs are supplements that work. If it's banned, it works. They don't bother with the rest"

Because USADA is a witch-hunt fueled by anti-science and technology religiosity. Creatine is proven to enhance athletic performance and yet it is not banned. LOL
