Superbowl final, if a team comes from 20 points behind at three quarter time and wins in the last few seconds of the game it's considered a great win, they are not lambastered for not dominating the first three quarters

Same with the NBA if a team comes from 3-0 in the series to win 4-3, it's considered amazing

Ditto in soccer , ditto in tennis if a player comes from 2 sets down to win

Ditto in a marathon race if a runner comes from way back to overtake late and win

BUT in MMA, if a fighter who wins does not dominate every single second before his/her win, we get ass wipe threads like this

Who cares whether Cody was winning or losing before, he got sparked and fucking lost !

Why do you care about what other people say?

This is sherdog bro

Because these other sports are really just games while fighting is fighting.

You cannot "finish" someone in tennis after being dominated for 2 sets, you cannot "finish" someone in marathon after losing the first half of the race, you cannot "finish" someone in basketball after losing the first half of the game, the entire games have to play out. There's no scenario in soccer where one team dominated for 60 minutes then on the 61st minute got KTFO and lost the match.

An analogy to TJ vs. Cody 2 in these other sports would be if a marathon runner dominated the first half of the race, then suddenly got injured and withdrew from the race. You bet your ass people would complain in that scenario.

This is Sherdog, where the average poster is somewhere between Palhares and Diego Sanchez when it comes to brainpower.
And half of them are dumber than that.

Because everyone who posts on this site is alpha and trains ufc, thus making them experts

Because you end being called boring like GSP

nobody cares about dominations

only thing that truly matters is the finish.

everything else is a failure to finish.

Because Sherdoggers are obsessed with fighters being exposed or looking vulnerable and also cannot handle when their favourite fighter loses. So we reach for what gives us comfort whilst simultaneously dragging down winner who we dislike.

Because many of the posters on here are literally retarded.

Like this guy^^^^^^

You clearly have not been a MMA fan for very long. This board went ape shit for Edgar vs Maynard II and III where Edger got absolutely destroyed in the first round of both fights and then came back to draw the 2nd one and get the TKO in the 3rd fight. Some people have them in their favorite fights of all time.

I admit I sometime live vicariously through a guy I want to see win. Sometimes wish I were a badass like em. But these badass cage fighters like Weidman and Neil magny know they have to let Hector Lombard or trttor do their thing to them then try to win later. And risk getting called a pussy for not stopping them before they do.

Mixed martial arts is a strategem and we won't always agree with how they win. Even if guys pretend to be hurt or gassed. How many guys admit to plying possum during post fight conferences or tweets? That helps future opponents. Nawmsayn?

Whilst this is generally true..........there have been "soccer" matches that ended before their time.......huge punch up on the pitch between players, then the officials join in, trying to stop the fight, fans see this and decide to invade the pitch, not sure how the judges score that one ......... I think the water cannons and mounted riot police won by unanimous decision........ Or possible TKO via rubber bullets and tear gas.......

It would be more decisions for me, MMA fanboys love to hype something like Dillshaw/Cruz as a definitive result when its essentially a draw.

Why can't the UFC have their version of what the porn industry has, stunt cocks, they could run on and finish fights for UFC stars, that have problems providing the money shot and finishing..........Anderson with a bit of make up and height cutting, could have been GSP's stunt cock.....

Or just pay the refs to stop it prematurely.

Refs need to get paid too.

It depends what you mean by "dominations" I'd say, just controlling the fight without really threatening isn't a domination for me.

GSP dominated Finch, he didn't dominate Alves.

But was that TS really criticizing? He's not saying that TJ didn't deserve to win. As silly as arguments like his inevitably sound, they're not stupider than when people pretend that anyone who loses is dogshit.
